Jason Hunt, MD, Announced as Interim Chair for New Department of Otolaryngology

Jason Hunt, MD, FACS, clinical director of head and neck surgical oncology at Huntsman Cancer Institute, has been named the interim chair of the University of Utah Health (U of U Health) Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS). The new department will continue to promote collaboration and research between Huntsman Cancer Institute and U of U Health.

Hunt began his new role on October 1, 2022. He has been with Huntsman Cancer Institute since 2006, specializing in melanoma, thyroid cancer, and throat cancer. Hunt served as medical director of Huntsman Cancer Institute operating rooms. His colleagues appreciate his leadership and passion for patient-centered care in all his roles.

"Dr. Hunt is a fantastic leader," says Sachin Apte, MD, MS, MBA, chief clinical officer and physician-in-chief at Huntsman Cancer Institute. "His new role will foster collaboration, research, and clinical innovation throughout Huntsman Cancer Institute and U of U Health."
