Providing Infusion Care & Services
Infusion Centers & Services
Making Your Experience Comfortable
At University of Utah Health's Infusion Center, we strive to make our patients as comfortable as possible by offering:
- reclining chairs and beds,
- a variety of entertainment selections such as cable television,
- dvds and reading materials, and
- nutritious boxed lunches.
Having infusion therapies can be time-consuming and uncomfortable. Our experienced and friendly staff constantly monitor patients while working with experienced pharmacists. Our pharmacists stay current with the latest research and work hard to offer the absolute best drug therapies.
Preparing for your Appointment
In order to help us provide you with a quality infusion treatment experience, please review the following tips for how to prepare for your appointment:
- Please drink plenty of water before your appointment.
- Abstain from drinking (alcohol and caffeinated drinks) or smoking.
- Bring a current list of all medications you are taking.
- You may bring one visitor to sit with you during treatment.
- Please do not bring children under 14 with you to your appointment.
Financial Assistance
At University of Utah Health, we recognize that infusion therapy is costly and can put a strain on your personal finances. To provide guidance on funding resources, we have available pharmacy patient assistance and U of U Health financial counselors.
The pharmacy assistance program helps with drug company assistance programs for prescription and infusion drugs. The financial advocates may assist with questions about patient financial obligations and assistance with government insurance programs.
