Internal Medicine Chair Elected to the Association of American Physicians

John Inadomi, MD, was inducted into the Association of American Physicians (AAP) during its annual scientific meeting this past weekend in Chicago, Illinois.

Established in 1885, the AAP is an honorific, elected society that recognizes America’s leading physician-scientists whose work reflects sustained innovation and meaningful impact in advancing health. The organization promotes physician-led research across all areas of medicine and underscores the importance of objective science and evidence in improving patient care.

In selecting Inadomi, the AAP highlighted his international reputation as a health services researcher in randomized clinical trials and decision analytic modeling. His NIH-supported work and influential publications have directly shaped national guidelines related to colorectal cancer and esophageal adenocarcinoma screening, including those from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, and have informed commercial and federal coverage decisions for screening tests.

Inadomi attended the meeting alongside fellow Department members Aylin Rodan, MD, PhD, a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), and Amiko Uchida, MD, an ASCI Young Physician-Scientist Award recipient, as the organizations held their joint annual scientific sessions.
