University Hospital has been recognized with four major awards during the past few weeks.
Becker's Hospital Review recognized University of Utah Hospital as one of the 100 great hospitals in the nation. The list is built by editors based on their own research and other rankings such as U.S. News & World Report. The review notes that, "Numerous medical feats and discoveries have occurred within the confines of the medical center."
Vivian Lee, M.D., Ph.D.,MBA, senior vice president for health sciences, dean of the School of Medicine, and CEO of University of Utah Health Care, has been named one of the 40 smartest people in healthcare, according to Becker's Hospital Review. The list identifies people who have the ability and talent to lead successful healthcare reform.
Thomas Miller, M.D., chief medical officer for University of Utah Hospitals & Clinics, has been named among the top 100 hospital and health system CMOs to know in 2014 by Becker's Hospital Review. The individuals were chosen based on their commitment to improved safety and quality and their outstanding contribution to their institutions.
Healthgrades included the University of Utah Hospital in its 2014 Outstanding Patient Experience Awards. The awards are given to institutions for patient satisfaction based on surveys regarding doctor and nurse communication, cleanliness, noise and other factors.
