For 2017, University of Utah Health Plans (UUHP) will expand its presence in the Utah market by continuing to offer Individual Plan products alongside SelectHealth and Molina. UUHP has expanded its service area and is offering coverage for residents in Box Elder, Cache, Rich, Weber, Morgan, Davis, Tooele, Salt Lake, Summit, Wasatch, Utah, Duchesne, Uintah, Grand, Iron and Washington counties. With Humana exiting the Utah individual market in 2016, UUHP is anticipating an increase in membership and maintains its commitment to provide convenient access to high-quality health care and value-driven outcomes for the community.
University of Utah Health Plans has been an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) for Utah's Medicaid population for almost two decades. As such, "UUHP understands the importance of effective care management and cost control," stated UUHP CEO Chad Westover. "We know how to handle this population, and we have built financial reserves to account for the risk."
With more than 18 years of Medicaid risk management experience and full system integration with University of Utah Health Care (UUHC), UUHP is uniquely positioned to offer its members a seamless continuum of care. UUHC was recently distinguished by Vizient, Inc. as the nation's No. 1 academic medical center in quality, safety, and accountability, having been recognized in the top ten for quality for the past seven years. UUHC also expanded its geographic footprint in Davis County with the October 2016 opening of the Farmington Health Center for primary and specialty care.
Open enrollment runs November 1, 2016 to January 31, 2017. Please call 801-618-1836 or visit the UUHP website.
