  • Dr. Ligia Onofrei is an assistant professor of neurology at the University of Utah and faculty member of the Neuromuscular Division. Dr. Onofrei also serves as the director of the Jack H. Petajan Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory and the associate program director for the adult neurology residency program. Dr. Onofrei completed her neurology residency training, as well as her neuromuscular training, at the University of Utah. In addition to the treatment and evaluation of neuromuscular disorders, Dr. Onofrei has a special interest in exploring the interplay between neurological disorders and degenerative spine disorders. Dr. Onofrei is passionate about teaching and has developed lectures and curricula for trainees at all stages: medical students, physician-assistant students, residents, and fellows.

    Dr Onofrei is very caring for whatever needs and concerns that I have. She is very knowledgeable and talks to me so that I will/can understand every aspect of of my care and treatment. She also listens to ANY concerns that I may or questions I may have about Anything also!! I appreciate all she does and for helping me with my health. She also documents it so I can refer to it whenever I can and need to for any questions or what we had talked about at my appointment. She is so knowledgeable and very caring and helpful! I appreciate her and this rarity so very much. I THANK HER AND APPRECIATE HER SO VERY MUCH! I WOULD NOT go to anyone else!! I Trust her that much!!

    Dr Onofrei always takes the time to listen to concerns. She is very thorough in her exams. She tells you of things to look for physically so you know whether continued treatment is necessary.
