My son is the most important person in my life and I truly felt like Dr Makarewich understood that without needing to be told. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the education we needed about his current issue, and he even took time to listen to a previous issue that we had an referred us to a colleague who might be able to help. I trust that we are in good hands, which means more to a mom than anything else.

Overall we really like Dr. Makarewich. He has good rapport with our child and cares about his welfare. I appreciate that he includes us in decisions and discusses how things will work. Sometimes I was frustrated because restrictions we were told prior to surgery didn't always match up without restrictions as they actually were after surgery. It's also been frustrating to have appointments (that fit out schedule) frequently cancelled and then rescheduled for times that are inconvenient and difficult to make happen (and are usually given as the only option).

Dr. Macarawich is exceptional. We came in through the ER where we were assigned to Dr. Macarawich and began our inpatient stay. He performed two surgeries on my child. During this very stressful time, he was a calming and helpful presence for both parent and patient. Trusting a stranger with the health and well being of your child is perhaps one of the most difficult decisions a parent can make. Our trust was well placed in Dr. Macarawich. He answered all of our questions and treated us as part of the team taking care of our child. We are on the recovery track and will forever be grateful for the dedication and care Dr. Macarawich continually shows.

We waited over an hour for the doctor to even make an appearance, he wasn't in the room but under 2 minutes and never made any kind of apology or acknowledgment of our time and patience. I didn't feel as though he was present or explained things very well without me first prompting with questions.

PRIMARY CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER

The last 2 visits, they didn't even get my son's height. I had to ask them to measure him even though he's being seen post LCPD and has over a 1 inch leg discrepancy. I felt like the surgeon was kind, but didn't really answer questions directly and didn't give us specific guidance or answers to concerns. My son was very depressed when we got home over the fact that he could've possibly had surgery that would've added to his height. It was a dissapointing visit that left us feeling we didn't have a specific plan or answers for his future care.

See prior statement. He had poor bedside manner and had zero interest in my sons injury. Even knowing he was an athlete. He didn't ask questions or engage in any conversation. He looked at the xrays and said you will be in a cast for 6 weeks. That was it. My son even said after the visit, well that guy was lame.....
