It was recommended that I start with Haley to review issues I was having on both feet. Haley reviewed the X-rays taken, discussed her observations and recommendations in detail. I left feeling I had a thorough understanding of my issues with reasonable treatments and timeframes.

She is excellent very empathetic and compassionate

This provider is competent and I have no doubt that she can provide the necessary care. However she is EXTREMELY RUDE. She asked a question about my injury and while answering it, my wife gave further clarification. She freaked out and yelled at the two of us. Demanding that she was only speaking to me, the patient. I would have understood had this been something that continued to happen, not the first time. This provider needs to learn some social etiquette!

Haley treated as I have come to expect with any care associated with the UofU Orthopedic center. Every one of family and friends have heard me direct them to the Orthopedic center. The only obstacle for them is the distance. We all live in Cache Valley and Box Elder county. I will go no where else for my orthopedic care.

Unfortunately I left feeling like it wasn't a great experience. I understand it's a holiday week and people are ready to sign off but this was an important appointment for me. I was hoping to walk away better understanding the procedure, next steps, and confident about the coming months. She wasn't very welcoming which created a weird environment. She wasn't very forthcoming with information, I needed to ask many questions to get the answers I wanted. Maybe she was having a bad day but it created a poor experience for me.

Haley was running a bit late for my appt. Which I felt there were some things that she had to talk to me about seemed rushed and short. Kind of like "Lets keep things clicking along." Thus, sometimes I felt unclear on our discussions. But to clear, her work ethic is spot on and I do give Haley high marks for my visit.

As I said before, Haley was great and made me feel very comfortable and I felt more positive about my foot healing than I did before.

She gave me advice about boots, insoles. My experience with her was extremely positive- every time I saw her.

She wanted to make sure whatever course of treatment we chose, I would realistically follow through. Basically, she included me in my treatment plan. Ms Vanderhill was very knowledgeable about my problem, listened well, discussed my options and prescribed appropriate treatment with my approval.

I was asked/advised when the PA was leaving the room to schedule an appointment with a surgeon that "Do you smoke? Most surgeons won't perform surgery on a smoker." It's in my chart that I smoke and I was scheduled with a surgeon who will not perform surgery on a smoker. I should have been advised this during the appointment and will now be paying to see a surgeon who will not do a procedure until I quit smoking. I feel like I should have been advised I'm not a candidate because of my addiction rather than having to pay hundreds of dollars to consult over a procedure I'm not eligible for when the provider was aware of this. Quitting smoking isn't an overnight or easy process but the staff doesn't understand that.

PA WAS UNPREPARED FOR THE MEETING, DID NOT READ THE RESULTS ON MYCHART EVEN IN MY PRESENCE.

The only thing was she sounded like a recording machine. She had her script and knew it well.

I truly feel very lucky to have Haley as my orthopedic provider. From out initial visit after I sustained the Injury, she showed such compassion and concern. She made me feel at ease, and is very genuine. She thoroughly listened to my concerns as I explained that I'm a busy mom, nurse, student and didn't know how to function with an injury. She took so much time with me during both of our visits, and provided education and answered my numerous questions. We looked at the X-rays together and she ensured I understood the treatment plan. I am so thankful for her time and expertise. She is a caring, patient, and an excellent provider and I am grateful she is overseeing my care.

Felt that I was not listened to. My concerns were not taken seriously. Also she told me something different than the PA I had seen previously who had 40+ years experience (as well as 3 orthopedic doctors I have discussed my injury with).

I know the care I receive here will focus on the mechanics of my leg and foot but please don't ignore the affects that surgery and injuries have on the whole person. This in fury and surgery have been very hard and to blow through an appt without an ask about how am I doing, am I getting care, how is pain management, am I able to get meals etc is missing a more important part. Please don't forget to check on the whole patient so injuries have the best chance to heal and don't lead to other problems. I have had very good care and have been well attended at home and it has still be very hard. I cringe to think of those with less care and to come to an appt where that isn't checked. And again - I strongly feel there should be a post surgery call(s) to check on patients to make sure they are getting basic needs met and to watch for any troubles with meds and pain management.

No notes were available after my visit in my chart, so I didn't have a written record of appropriate procedures for caring for surgical incisions and how to proceed with crutches and return to weight bearing.

I will definitely recommend Hailey.

It felt like Haley seemed to urgently state surgery was needed for my foot, but before talking about options. She was great about showing me the xrays of my foot, and talking about the issues.

PA was very dismissive of pain in my foot. She kept saying the procedure was cosmetic but also the issue would only worsen and I would need surgery at some point. When I explained I have insurance now but it's not promised in the future, she very much downplayed the importance of insurance and that I could wait for surgery. She very much came from a place of privilege by not understanding that if I will need the surgery at some point that I should plan on it when I have insurance. I left appointment feeling dismissed and that my time was waisted as the only thing we talked about was the same thing me and my primary. My time was wasted and I felt minimized and dismissed. PA has a lot to learn about privilege and listening to her patients.

The PA showed great concern for injury and provided several options for treatment. She described in detail what the treatments involved and potential success. I appreciated her candidness and honesty.

Haley is an incredibly gifted provider. Whether it be her skill sets, or the way she relates with patients. She is a credit to her craft, and this department. I have seen no better.
