I have enjoyed the mini nuances of medical questions and AI Algorithmic decision making and how it's changing medical analysis for cancer patients and Parkinson's deceases during our visits. Dr. Stoneburner is rarely, if ever, on time. When he meets with you, he likes to focus on all the negative things, even when there is good news to report. I just get tired of these lectures on my negative traits. I'm already well aware of my weaknesses and how I must improve.

Although I couldn't get the cortisone shot I requested to help eliminate my intense shoulder pain which was the reason I seek help to begin with, I do think he afforded me the best treatment under his care. A referral was made for me to an orthopedic specialist to receive a cortisone injection the following week. I was in tears the whole 25 minutes negotiating the steering wheel driving home because of so much pain in my shoulder. I do appreciate very much that Dr. Stoneburner sent a message late that evening to MyChart to let me know my shoulder X-ray reading was normal.

Also he has a nurse or practioner take what changes I've had and when Dr S comes in I ask did you read the notes that were taken and he says no. Then why am I going into so much detail with the practionsioner? Where is the logic behind that.

Dr. Stoneburner takes his time to listen to me and answer questions. He explains test results and medical diagnoses with vocabulary that makes it easy to understand the information. He respects me as a person and includes me in the decisions of testing, medications and treatment. He holds me accountable to goals we set together, in a supportive caring approach. I seldom feel judged, embarrassed or criticized for being overweight, which can be humiliating. I am very thankful he always makes me feel respected and valued. He is the gold standard of Internal Medicine providers. I know he routinely runs late and/or behind on his clinic visits, nonetheless, I will happily wait for him patiently knowing he will spend quality time with me when it's my turn. Please, I hope the administration never pushing him to make "X" amount a visits an hour.... that is punishing and disrespectful to your BEST IM providers and would decrease quality & satisfaction with U of U Health.

Dr. Stoneburner is a wonderful doctor that takes the time to listen to what your issues are. Then explained what he can is the issues that are happening to you in layman terms. Also explains what labs you need to have and why you need to have them done. Dr. Stoneburner has that ability to have a great conversation and understanding of the issues that you have. So he will explain if you need adjustments on your medication or if you need a different medication what the medication can do for you and how it will work. He also lets you know of side effects, He knows you and wants to makes sure it's something that your completely understanding and comfortable with, He takes the time to to really know you and not just rush through and get the appointment over with like other doctors seem to do a lot of.Most doctors will have an assistant or will come in talk to you for less than 10 minutes. You don't even get to finish telling them what you wanted to get across to them or you forget quite a few things because you've been rushed. Then you have to wait 3 months or more before you see them again. This is what makes the difference between Dr. Stoneburner and a lot of other physicians. During the time that you have with him you get that information that you need to because he gives you the chance to express that information across because he gives you that time and he listens.

Dr. Stoneburner is great. Wait time was horrible but I needed to be seen. He took care of all my concerns. He referred me somewhere else but by the time I got out of appointment, office was closed. Appointment was at 3 and I left at 5. It was a Friday so I had to wait ALL weekend when I felt this was urgent.
