The disconnect between the assistant and the doctor was baffling. I think Dr. Thomas thought I was crazy or confused. It made the visit unpleasant . At least at first. We were able to overcome the awkwardness and move on.

I do think Dr. Thomas is knowledgeable & capable as a physician but she lacks compassion and interest. She comes across curt and insulting at times. Maybe she is burnt out, but each time I have an appt. with her I leave thinking I have got to find a new Dr. and this time I am going to do it! I would not recommend Dr. Thomas.

REDSTONE HEALTH CENTERCare provider seemed very little familiar with my medical history, hence I have been seen her for 3 yrs. when asked about a condition related to one of my medical conditions, she told me I should not be pero es since I dont have it. Then, when discussing testing for thyroid levels, and I mentioned it would be good as my mom and grandmother have it - her response was "oh really." This is something that is in my medical records, but for some reason - she was very disengaged. When I enquirer about an endoscopy and hiatal hernia - she said that it looked like I didnt have it. I stated that I wanted to understand why I had ongoing esophagus spasms when I bend, her response was "that is very common for anyone to get" - I really dont know any one that has this symptoms. Which I mentioned. She then proceeded to say - there can be many reasons for this to happen, but was not able to give me a good reason or piece of mind. This visit, was definitely a slight disappointment. I didnt not feel as I was a priority or that I mattered greatly. This is not been always the case with her - but I feel that it is valuable to share my experience. We all have rough days, and the physician may have had a rough start - but its a patient, it is hard to witness how unfamiliar your physician is with your medical record or history.

Today Dr. Kelly was kind, pleasant, cleaned her hands (as she always does) and listened much better without being abrupt. I commend her on this attitude change. Covid has been hard on medical professionals, but there is light at the end of this very long tunnel. Most of us are doing the right thing by masking, vaccinating & boosting, staying away from crowds. It's been socially hard on us good folks and we are frustrated that others do not behave with concern and kindness toward others, especially those that are immune compromised or that are not yet able to be vaccinated, so we have some small Idea what medical professionals are facing every day. So it is very nice when a medical professional is patient, kind, caring given what they have been going through during the pandemic. Please let Dr. Thomas know that I appreciate her exceptional medical skills and her new found or maybe renewed sense of pleasant bedside manner. Let her know she Is a treasure so she can smile more everyday! Thank you!

During this appt, Dr Thomas told me when to expect lab results and how the results would be communicated to me. She also took a moment to remind me that I could contact her directly if any questions or concerns come up before my next scheduled appointment. Her offer felt so genuine! - not like the throw-away line that is sometimes tacked on to the end of a healthcare visit. Since I have a chronic (lifelong) health issue, it is important for me to feel that my primary care physician is in this with me. I think a good doc lets the patient know they have a sort of ¿partner¿ in dealing with health issues.

I left my appointment with little to no additional information and she seemed mostly uninterested in what was going on with me. I almost wanted to ask her if everything was OK, but she just seemed like she didn't care. Even though receptionist didn"t realize I wasn't checked in after one hour and a half. Dr. Thomas made time for me which I really appreciated. The receptionists are usually very, very good. Just that day made a mistake. I really appreciate DR. THOMAS making time for me to talk about test results etc. especially at the end of the day.
