Languages spoken: English
  • Kirsti Rinne completed her training as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner at Boston College in 2008. With no place to call home, Kirsti traveled around the United States. She was eventually drawn to Utah to be close to family but immediately fell in love with Utah’s mountains and desert where she decided to stay. After several years of working in Salt Lake City as a Nurse Practitioner at Planned Parenthood and the University of Utah OB Emergency department, Kirsti decided to return to school to study midwifery. She received her post-graduate training from the University of Utah and joined the University’s midwife practice shortly thereafter. In 2015, 2017, and 2020 driven by a passion for global health work, Kirsti went on assignments with the organization Doctors Without Borders, where she provided medical care for women in Ethiopia, South Sudan and Cameroon. On all three assignments she spent her time educating the community and national staff midwives as well as providing reproductive healthcare for women. Kirsti joined the general OB/GYN division and Maternal Fetal Medicine group in 2018.

Kirsti truly cares about her patients and took the time to listen to the few health concerns I have had, asking questions and providing clear explanations throughout. She has truly helped me with my health on a more immediate basis and, from the medications she prescribed, on a long-term basis as well. I really appreciate being a patient of Kirsti's and working with her wonderful team.
