Sofia Whitefields is a Registered Dietitian (RD) with a Master of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Physiology from the University of Utah. She received her bachelor's in Nutrition Science from Montana State University.
Her approach to nutrition counseling is grounded in patient-centered care, with a focus on understanding each patient’s history, barriers, and health priorities. She strives to create a space for clients to share about their culture and lived experience, which allows deliverance of care that is tailored to the individual. Using motivational interviewing and shared decision-making, Sofia collaborates with patients to address barriers, including access to resources, and developing realistic strategies that support sustainable lifestyle change.
Sofia's nutritional expertise ranges from helping clients improve their relationship with food and their body, to supporting lifestyle management of chronic conditions like Diabetes, PCOS, GI issues and many more! Sofia works with patients above the age of 8 years old.
In addition to providing individual medical nutrition therapy appointments, Sofia collaborates with other dietitians to lead cooking classes and workshops designed to support chronic disease management at Osher Center for Integrative Health. She also helps facilitate several programs within the Osher Center for Integrative Health, including New You, One Day Wellness, Diabetes Prevention, and Food Pharmacy. She is currently seeing patients at the Redwood Clinic and Madsen Health Center (departments of Family Practice and Internal Medicine). In her free time, Sofia enjoys skiing, trail running, biking, cooking and laughing with friends!
