He is also Assistant Medical Director for AirMed, the University's large critical care air medical transport program, operating eight aircraft and ten separate flight teams 24/7, and directs their Mechanical Circulatory Support (ECMO) transport program. He also has special expertise in the management of emergency and difficult airways, and teaches this on an international level. Finally, he has extensive experience in disaster response, and commanded a large federal disaster response team for ten years.
