Patient Rating
Patients overwhelmingly rate Dr. Bunch highly (327 of 344 reviews are 5-star) and frequently credit his clinical expertise in cardiac electrophysiology and life‑saving interventions. Commenters repeatedly praise his clear, thorough explanations—often using drawings and lay terms—his strong bedside manner, attentiveness, and the trust he builds through careful testing and treatment planning. Feedback is largely positive, with one note of an administrative lapse after surgery regarding an incorrect contact number.
Generated via Patient Reviews
The patient rating score is an average of all responses on our patient experience survey. The rating averages scores for all questions about care from our providers. The scale on which responses are measured is 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.
Patient comments are gathered from our patient experience survey and displayed in their entirety. For the convenience of our visitors, some patient comments have been translated from their original language into English while preserving their original meaning as accurately as possible. Patients are de-identified for confidentiality and patient privacy.

Since I arrived so late due to the parking, attendants had to ask to make sure I could still be seen for an appointment. Everyone seemed friendly.
Dr Bunch is as good as they come!
Dr Bunch is as good as they come!
I consider myself extremely fortunate to have Dr. Bunch as my physician.
He was customarily positive, noted that the ECG sample showed a pair of extra beats, and made no changes in the medication regime. After receiving a specialist's review of the ECG results a few days following the appointment, I wondered whether my condition might be verging toward new intervention.
Don't have much use for intern/resident. Dr bunch is the best
Good experience
Dr Bunch is very conscientious and knowledgeable definitely recommend him to anyone
Seeing Dr. Bunch is always a good experience
Maci and Penny were extremely attentive and helpful. They both made what seemed to me an awkward appointment very comfortable.
I have been a patient of Dr. Bunch's for several years beginning when he was working for Intermountain Health Care. In my opinion, he is an outstanding physician, and I was very pleased that he transferred to the U of U Hospital. One of his strengths is his excellent communication skills. An example pertaining to this skill occurred when I first met him at IHC. He was strongly recommended to me after a physician had spent only five minutes or less discussing the meaning and significance of my test result. Dr. Bunch spent one hour thoroughly and clearly explaining what they meant. He answered all of my questions in such a way that I discerned that he was a doctor who was/would be a superb educator in a medical school. As a retired U of U professor, I was very Impressed with him. He also Is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable.
Dr Bunch is always kind and caring
Dr. Bunch was very patient during this virtual interview in spite of the issues that I was having with my internet connection.
I saw Dr Bunch at intermountain medical center and followed him to the University of utah. I see him and pay out of my own pocket to do so. He is worth it.

Dr. T. Jared Bunch has been a life-saver and a valued ally in maintaining my cardiac function at levels where I function quite well for my age and underlying conditions. Without his intervention on my behalf, and implanting and connecting my ICD, I would not have survived another 30 days. Dr. Bunch has always been very generous with his counsel and very forthright in his explanation of my condition(s). His bedside manner is excellent, concerned and cordial.

The technician was very detailed and caring and the preparation to inform Doctor Bunch for better care was excellent as was Doctor Bunch care and recommendations.
Dr Bunch is wonderful
Dr. Bunch has been incredible. He takes the time to listen to you and wants to know you as a person, not just another patient. He did my ablation in September and it gave me my quality of life back.
Dr. Bunch is AMAZING! He diagnosed my heart Issue by examining the results of my 30 day heart monitor. At my appointment, he explained the issue to me in layperson's terms replete with drawing a picture to illustrate what was going on. He offered options for treatment explaining the risks and benefits of each. Then when I chose the treatment option of an ablation, he performed the procedure meticulously the next week. I could not be more Impressed with his expertise, knowledge, charisma, and caring ways. Thank you for hiring physicians of the caliber of Dr.Thomas Bunch at the University of Utah.
Without Dr. Bunch's unique and special abilities in cardioelectrophysiology, I would not be alive today. Dr. Bunch is always sincerely interested in my condition and how I am progressing (or having difficulty). He is very clear in his instructions to me. He has a very pleasant bedside manner. First half of my visit was with his PA; she was not as informed of my case as Dr Bunch.

Dr. Bunch listened to and answered all my questions and provided the information I needed to make decisions about my own health care. He's terrific.
Appoint.ent was better than I could have imagined. Dr. Bunch listed to my health.concern. He showed interest and concern. He drew a diagram.of my heart and explained the cause of Aifib. He explained why my currens meds were causing problems and what procedures could eliminate or modify them. He ordered the procedures as best options, and then told me I could choose whichever I felt comfortable with. He earned my trust by showing empathy, concern, knowledge, and surgical experience. He is the best heart doctor I have seen over the years.
Dr. Bunch use drawings, written explanations, and oral explanations to help me better understand my health concern. I learned a lot in a short time. He took time to clearly explain my options, and ordered them according to priority. He carefully answered my questions. And he has a great sense of humor. I felt at ease in no time. Dr. Bunch has been my Electro-Cardiophysiology physician since 2015, at which time he performed a procedure which markedly improved my cardiac function and extended my life. Dr. Bunch is technically excellent in his field, is very adept in educating patients regarding the condition for which they are being treated, and has an excellent "Bedside Manner".
If I could give a rating higher than 'very good', I would say GREAT! Dr. Bunch makes me feel at ease and I trust him.
This was my first "meeting" with Dr. Bunch and I couldn't have been more impressed with his professionalism, his prior preparation of my visit in regards to studying my information and his personable means of explanation.
couldn't ask for a more caring skilled doctor
very Professional and Caring
