Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Huntsman Cancer Institute
Kevin Cheney, MBA, CPA, serves as Executive Director of Finance and Administration at Huntsman Cancer Institute and Senior Finance Officer for the Cancer Hospital. In this dual role, Cheney oversees the Huntsman Cancer Institute budget for research, training, and community engagement activities in addition to the clinical budget. He works closely with Huntsman Cancer Institute leaders to evaluate the financial feasibility, viability, and sustainability of ongoing operations and proposed new initiatives. In addition, Cheney is responsible for executive leadership of key units of the research mission, uniting more than 322 staff members among research administration, general administration, facilities, computing & technology, and finance in collective support of delivering a cancer-free frontier.
Cheney has served as a financial leader of the research and clinical missions of Huntsman Cancer Institute for over twenty years. He is a CPA and received his bachelor of science, magna cum laude, in finance from Westminster College. He earned a master’s of business administration from the University of Utah, where he was named outstanding scholar of his program.
