As the director of outpatient services at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI), part of the University of Utah Health system of hospitals and clinics, I look forward to coming to work every day. Our team has the opportunity and responsibility to make a positive difference for every patient during every visit.
At our Salt Lake City location alone, we see approximately 500 patients each day in our outpatient clinics and infusion center. Our patients rely on our clinical teams and staff to provide safe, efficient, and high quality care during each clinic visit. We are honored to have patient satisfaction ratings in the top one percentile nationally. And because our patients deserve nothing less, we are committed to holding ourselves to that high standard.
To further support and enhance the care we provide, we are in the midst of a massive outpatient clinic remodeling process. This will allow us to continue to serve more families affected by cancer. While remodeling is never easy, in the end we will have beautiful updated spaces that will support our increasing patient volumes and the complex care we provide in the outpatient setting.
Even though our patients are facing serious, life-altering challenges, there are constant feelings of peace and comfort within the walls of HCI. It is a privilege to share this space with people affected by cancer and to be part of a team dedicated to providing the best care possible.
