Working to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities in the Mountain West

Huntsman Cancer Institute’s Geographic Management of Cancer Health Disparities program (GMaP) is an initiative of HCI’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion and is part of a nationwide program by the National Cancer Institute. Organizations from seven hubs across the country work to reduce cancer health disparities and support career development for researchers and trainees who work on cancer health disparities.

The PathMaker Program definitely had a significant impact on my career path. It was what opened the door to the research world and provided me with the support I needed even after completing the program. I learned that even though my internship ended, the relationships and contacts I gained in the program did not. PathMaker has helped me in every step of my career, and I will be forever grateful.

To say that the PathMaker Program made an impact on my life would be a huge understatement. I learned so much from my PathMaker experience, I honestly could write a book about it. Because of the skills I learned, the connections I made, and the amazing mentorship I received, the program instilled in me a drive to continue to chase my dreams.
