When I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma at the age of 26 it was by far the scariest thing I had ever faced. I had been married for about a year at the time I was diagnosed. At the time I was focused on staying alive, but the incredible team at HCI knew that if being a father was even remotely in the cards (which it was), we needed to take measures to ensure a future family was a possibility.

A national authority in hematology will soon lead Hematology and Hematological Malignancies at Huntsman Cancer Institute and University of Utah Health. Mental Illness Elevated Among Hodgkin Lymphoma Patients

Patients with Hodgkin lymphoma are more likely to suffer from mental-health and substance-abuse disorders than the general population. Calling for more attention to mental health, a study published August 2 in Cancer by researchers from Huntsman Cancer Institute found people with the disease had higher risks of anxiety, depression, substance abuse, suicide, and self-inflicted injuries.
