A Leukemia Survivor Returns the Care He Received

Back when he was 19, Trey was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a blood cancer that affects the immune system. Trey's experience with his nurses while he was in treatment inspired him to go to nursing school. Now he works in the blood and marrow transplant unit at HCI.

The International Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Foundation (iCMLf) has awarded the prestigious Rowley Prize to Michael Deininger, MD, PhD. Deininger’s selection as the 2019 awardee was announced in February. Formal presentation of the prize occurred at an international scientific conference in Bordeaux, France, earlier this month.
