More than a dozen specialists and researchers from the John A. Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah will be traveling to Chicago this week to share their expertise with colleagues from around the country at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
The conference, running Oct. 27-30 and highlighting the latest in technology and ophthalmic advances, will include more than 50 symposia and 350 courses in topics from cataracts to vision rehabilitation, original papers, scientific posters and panel discussions, and networking opportunities.
At a reception Sunday, Oct. 28, Moran CEO Randall J Olson, MD, and Vice Chair of Education Jeff Pettey, MD, will present Julia Shulman, MD, with the 2018 Moran Distinguished Alumni Award. Shulman, a board certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon at NYC Retina, completed her residency in ophthalmology at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, where she was chief resident. She completed her retina fellowship at the Moran Eye Center.
Here’s a look at some of the topics Moran doctors and researchers will be discussing during the conference (list subject to change):
