The Dr. runs a well organized office. The calm atmosphere gave the patient confidence that she was in the right place. All of my options were clearly & thoroughly explained. I had time to ask questions. The packet provided had QR Codes to brief informative videos. I appreciated sample forms were provided that shared what I would be asked to sign the day of the procedure. So far the diagnostic machines appeared state of the art to provide patient confidence in the Doctor and to aid in decision making.

I think Dr. Jeff Patty is highly experienced and provides customized treatment based upon patient's needs. However, his team does not provide regular communication to the patients about the waiting time. I visited him twice and each time I needed to wait around an hour. I have not received regular communication from the doctor's team. It was really frustrating. The medical assistant I saw, had little or no interest to know the disease history, how I am feeling with the treatment I was going through. She felt very annoyed over me for no reason. She was even hesitant to talk to me. I never had this type of experience with a medical assistant in a medical care environment. I hope that the hospital authority will be aware of this situation and will take appropriate measures. Thank you! I got an impression that the medical assistant even did not even care about me. She spent least minimum time with me. Next time, I would try not to be seen by the same medical assistant again.

He is always extremely kind and respectful. I couldn't expect more from him. This visit was a little different from those in the past. Not in the way he treated me. He was still a very respectful and professional man, but that he was running behind and trying to catch up on time. When I checked in there was 4 people ahead of me waiting to be seen, and while I waited 3 or 4 more came in. I had been having issues with my eyes for 11 months since my last yearly visit. Due to the distance we travel to see him I waited for my next annual check. When I did see him, he glanced in one eye and said the dry eye is a big reason for the pain. He put in plugs to help me. He never checked the other eye or checked any other issues. It would have been better for me to have them reschedule. me for another time. I had been waiting for months to see him and to get such little exam was a disappointment. Nothing to do with his professionalism, just lack of examination.

There was no interaction with the DR. I was ay Moran one and a half hours and spent 5minutes with Dr. Petty . Yes, I a, old but my interaction with him made me feel very old. He was very vague in his responses to me. I have been a patient at Moran for many many years , I took my mother to her appointments there. The energy and compassion of Alan Crandall is certainly missing. We all get old, his empathy and compassion was missing. Let not certain if I should get a new prescription or not. I would like to see someone else.

I went to the Moran Clinic because of their reputation and because I wanted to see an actual doctor about my sight concerns. My exam given by the very cold technician (not the doctor) was very mechanical and distant. I would talk about my concerns to a someone who wasn't interested at all. I have had much, much better eye exams at the mall. The doctor came in 30 minutes late, spent 10 minutes with me just spouting his opinions, not addressing my issues, and left.
As always, Dr. Pettey was thoughtful in listening to and responding to my questions and providing his informed perspectives.
I am suffering from an as yet undiagnosed condition. I have been struggling to cope with it. Dr. Petty agreed with me when I said I didn't feel able to take on anything else in my life at this time.

I went to see Dr. Jeff Pettey for my biannual checkup for glaucoma. Of utmost importance was determining whether the disease has progressed. I saw the usual battery of assistants before seeing the doctor. Sandra, a new assistant came in first; she gathered my recent health history and typed it as fast as I could say it! Having just had eyelid surgery on [DATE REMOVED], I needed a new eyeglass prescription, and she took care of that in short order. Her most important check was my eye pressure; at 12 and 13, it turned out to be normal. She next accompanied me to the Moran radiology lab where a British lady took digital x-rays of my eyes-it was my first experience with that examination. Then I saw Dr. Pettey. He painstakingly reviewed all the data, both from my eyelid surgery (for which he provided the referral) and from the new information gathered during the office visit. Dr. Pettey was pleased with the extent of the study and its outcomes. He provided me with copies of both my prescription for glasses and my Lumigan eyedrops for glaucoma. Then, taking into account my overall health status, he thought that my progress with his treatments to be reasonably good, but he concluded on a new concept. He said that over the years ahead, I would likely stay free of further glaucoma setbacks by receiving cataract surgery. Surgical treatment improves the flow of ocular fluids and blood circulation in the eyes, which will help me avoid additional flare-ups. This gave me a vision of staying free of blindness over the long term. Dr. Pettey exhibited his usual expertise and positive bedside manner, as he has been my provider for the past eight years, having been recommended by his predecessor Dr. Goldsmith. Dr. Pettey is brilliant yet unassuming and welcoming. He must have high intelligence; he is a master of ophthalmology. His expertise shows when making prompt diagnoses, explanations, and prescriptions. He is well known in the department for how he delegates to his technicians and trainees, and he expedites his services. He was at ease despite all the problems I presented, which enhances a patient's respect and allegiance. I enthusiastically recommend him along with all my other U of U doctors to my friends and associates. In terms of a merit rating if it is required, Dr. Jeff Pettey deserves the most superlative, far more than a mere five stars or A+++.

Dr. Pettey is terrific and I would recommend him to others but I would caution them that he runs behind and be front office staff does not stay on top of it and patients need to be prepared to wait a long time

Dr Pettey, was caring kind. He introduced himself and took time to get to know me. As we proceed through the eye exam he everything that he was doing and took time to answers all questions.

Dr. Pettey is excellent. This was a follow-up visit. He explained what he was doing during the exam, and gave me very good advice for at-home care of my eyes in general--simply using a hot compress for my eyes. I purchased one and noticed some improvement since using it.

A good outline was given of my options for the lens we utilized in my cataract surgery.
Dr. Pettey excels at explaining the eye and eye care. I arrived at the clinic carry significant worry over an elective vitrectomy. That would be performed by Dr. Jacoby. Jeff walked me through the pros/cons of the procedure, described possible adverse outcomes, and assured me that, If he were in my shoes, he would elect the procedure ("without hesitation"). His confidence and clarity lifted the worry burden I arrived with. That meant the world to me.

I got to talk to Dr. Pettey, two times prior to the day of surgery, about concerns. I made the decision to go forward. We talked mostly about better pain management.

I still wonder, if we should have done, one eye nearsighted and the other one for distance. I've also, never had that before, in glasses! I still believe, I had excellent care!

Provider and doctor consulted together about my cataract and scheduled me to see another doctor 2 months later. They could not explain what they had discovered/were concerned about. They said the next doctor might be able to tell me something...I like to understand my own health and research the possibilities to develop confidence in the choice of plan going forward. So that was a little scary and frustrating. So now I'm waiting with very little understanding. Your reputation is so high that I'm hoping it will work out with good sight in both eyes. I'm not even sure if the problem effects one eye or both. Is it a simple problem or a really serious one. Fortunately my memory is poor and I may forget this part, of the time.

A great experience except for the mask fogging the equipment lens.
DR Pettey did not seem interested with my issue with constant yawning (still visible behind the mask). I didn't want to take up any more of his time so didn't cover everything I had hoped to address, as Christopher had marked down prior. He just wanted me to take a daily baby aspirin and be done with it. At least, that is the feeling I got.
Dr Pettey is such a great human being, foundational to being a great doctor. with economy of action and speech he got the work done with lightning speed, answering all my questions and showing me he cared, just enough time left over for a cheerful and thoughtful chat. I recommend him to everyone.

I have diabetes and Dr. Pettey always has my concerns about retinopathy first and foremost. The Dr. explains what he's looking at when peering into the insides of my eyes and alays my fears about going blind. :}
Dr. Jeff Petty and his staff have been absolutely outstanding. The treatment I have received at Moran has been fantastic. I cannot fault them in regards to anything. They have given me eyesight that I never thought I would have. I have worn corrective lenses or contact lenses for 60 years prior to my cataract surgeries. I am not seeing 20/15 in both eyes. What a fantastic change.

I came for eye strain and to evaluate whether I need new glasses. Turns out my glasses weren't dispensed properly, so maybe I just needed new glasses. Unfortunately all that evaluation was done by the doctor's assistant who was not doing a good job in my view. Dr Pettey evaluated my eye health which is important but was not interested in my lens prescription. Frankly I felt he rushed me our of the exam room when I told him I tested the assistant's new lens and they weren't clear to me. He never did the eye test for lenses. You should be clear in booking appointments that a doctor will not do tests for lens prescriptions. Going forward I won't go to Moran for that; a local optician does a much better job. Moran will be for eye health for me.

The assistant evaluate me and then said that the doctor will be with me shortly. More than 10 minutes and the doctor still did not show up but I noticed that he already completed my visit because I received a notification from MyChart that the after visit is available to read. Than he showed up. This is very unprofessional how the doctor conducted this visit.
