I've been seen by a different bariatric surgeon and was not at all impressed so I was referred to Dr. Volkmann and am VERY happy I found him. He is extremely patient and kind and understanding. You don't feel like a number or anything other a patient he truly cares about and wants to help. If you need help he has a lot of experience in many things I would recommend him over any other Bariatric Dr. He also specializes in many other things, so look him up and give him a call you'll be glad you did.

Dr. Volckmann, was pleasant. and knowledgeable and was matter of fact and straight to business! within 10 minutes of seeing him, he had booked my surgery, and I was on my way! I did want to get something for the nerve pain, but he really didn't seem to think I needed anything.

Dr. Volckmann, fit me in as my appointment had been canceled due to a technical difficulty. He was informative and answered all my questions concerning my options going forward. He gave consideration to insurance needs and explained how scheduling usually booked up that latter months of the year if I needed it before then. I really appreciated that.

I've been a nurse for over 30 years Have dealt with many, many MDs. Dr. Volckmann has a great demeanor and understands what his patients with surgery are going through.
Dr. Volckmann's manner was very comforting and made me feel that all is going to be alright and that he can fix my problem. He took time to listen to your questions and answered in a way you knew that he knows what he's doing. I highly recommend him. I had ALOT of questions, he answered them, and if I have more I will reach out. Having surgery is a major decision, it is not something that I was leaning toward. Yes, its scary, but I want to get better and live a normal life, and not feel terrible all the time. I feel like I made the right decision.

I really like Dr Volckmann. I have a lot of respect for him and trust in his abilities and decisions.
I saw Dr. Volckmann regarding a new incisional hernia. I did not believe it was dangerous to my health, but wanted to make sure. Both Dr. Volckmann and the resident who was working with him evaluated my condition and confirmed my belief. In fact, they strengthened my belief by pointing out that the surgery required to repair my hernia was probably more dangerous to me than the hernia as I am a heart failure patient. They also gave good instruction regarding what to look for if my hernia condition worsened.

After waiting for so long I had about 5-10 minutes with the doctor where we chatted about my health concerns. By that point I was frustrated and felt like it was a waste of my time. The doctor did not have much to say and I also felt that he felt it was a waste of his time.
Dr. Volckmann is the greatest physician I have encountered. He truly cares and listens to an individuals problems. He is very knowledgeable and only wants the best for each and every person that walks through his clinic. My whole family goes to him and they would agree with me!
I feel that at first it was a bit difficult to try to talk about my experience and understand what I have been going through. but once I was able to explain my condition and how I've been having to deal with everything I believe the doctor was then able to figure out how he might be able to help me and what testing could be done to see if he is going to be able to help me. but I do completely understand that there are some testing that has to be done first to see if he's able to help me or not. and I completely understand where he's coming from and what he has to look for to see if he's able to help me or not

Dr. Volckmann is amazing! Having this surgery has been life changing. Its brought up my confidence, I'm a more positive person, and have so much more energy. It certainly helps to have a great surgeon like Dr. Volckmann. Both him and the clinic staff has always been so nice, before and after surgery. My most recent visit is a good example of how supportive the staff is. The MA was reviewing how much weight I've lost at check in and having her cheer with me was an awesome experience. Love this clinic and I'd recommend Dr. Volckmann to everyone.
