1. University of Utah College of Nursing has taken home the Grand Award in Annual Reports for Non-profit/Large Organizations as well as an Excellence Award for the writing of their 2014 annual report. Awards are based on not only graphic design, but also editorial content and the success of the entry in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence. This award was presented during the 27th annual APEX Awards for Publication Excellence, a national competition for corporate and nonprofit publishers, editors, writers and designers who create print, web, electronic and social media.
2. The University of Utah BSN program has been named as one of Value Colleges' Top 50 Best Value BSN Programs for 2015. Value Colleges is an online blog featuring the best colleges with the lowest cost and highest returns. 3. Primary Children's Hospital has ranked in seven different specialties in the U.S. News & World Report 2015-16 Best Children's Hospitals. The hospital placed in the following categories: Cancer (33rd), Cardiology and Heart Surgery (20th), Neonatology (45th), Nephrology (44th), Neurology and Neurosurgery (21st), Orthopedics (10th) and Urology (31st). 4. The American Society of Nephrology (ASN), the largest organization of kidney health professionals in the world, has approved University of Utah researcher Nirupama Ramkumar, MD, MPH, for funding starting July 1, 2015. The organization will also be naming Ramkumar a 2015 Carl W. Gottshalk Research Scholar for her research: Functional Role of Nephron Prorenin Receptor in Regulation of Blood Pressure, Sodium and Water Homeostasis. The ASN foundation for Kidney Research provide more than $3 million in funding for clinical and basic research for members of all stages of their careers each year.
5. University of Utah Chief Financial Advisor, Gordon Crabtree, has been listed as one of "150 hospital and health system CFO's to know" by the Becker's Hospital Review. Crabtree has served as CFO of University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics since 2002 and has been responsible for all financial aspects of the system since. For a time in 2006, he also served as the system's interim CEO.
