Charlton Park named UUHC’s new Chief Analytics Officer

Charlton Park has been named Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) for University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, a newly created position.

Park has been the recognized leader guiding the Decision Support Team and others in the development of Business Intelligence tools, creating the Value Driven Outcomes tool and reports, as well as working on hundreds of analytics projects to support leaders across the system in making data-driven decisions.

Over the last several years, UUHC has grown its Decision Support team, and its required data tools, to support the expanding need for data analytics in strategic decision-making. Improving clinical outcomes and effectively managing costs has been the work of Decision Support, in collaboration with professionals across the health system. As data-related tools and projects became part of UUHC's core strategy, it became clear that now is the right time to create the position of Chief Analytics Officer.

As the CAO, Park will continue to provide leadership to UUHC and collaborate with the health system to elevate its use of clinical and financial data, and the related analytics that will provide opportunities for action. In this role he will work to increase the profile of the health system among peer health systems across the country.

Park will continue to report to Gordon Crabtree, Chief Financial Officer of UUHC, but will be working with all parts of the health system to meet critical needs of the clinical, financial and IT professionals.
