University of Utah Health's Stroke Center has been re-certified by the DNV GL. This certification demonstrates a commitment to excellence through a disciplined management system and the best clinical settings including imaging, rehabilitation, emergency departments, etc. Accreditation standards include meeting requirements from the Guidelines of the Brain Attack Coalition, and recommendations of the American Stroke Association.
The Stroke Center offers an accredited specialty stroke program and provides care to rural and underserved areas 24/7 via Telestroke (telemedicine).
