University of Utah Health Awarded on Newsweek’s World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2021 List

University of Utah Health has been awarded on Newsweek's list of World's Best Smart Hospitals 2021. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The awards list was announced on June 9th, 2021 and can currently be viewed on Newsweek's website.

The World's Best Smart Hospitals 2021 list recognizes the 250 best medical institutions worldwide that are leading the field in smart technologies. The survey included recommendations for five sub-categories: Digital Surgery, Digital Imaging, Artificial Intelligence, Telehealth and Electronic Medical Record. These were based on worldwide recommendations from hospital managers and medical professionals with knowledge on Smart Hospitals.

The evaluation process was comprised of three steps:

  • Expert interviews: in-depth interviews with industry experts to generate questions and categories for the international survey.
  • Hospital recommendations from peers: an international survey that resulted in more than 13,000 votes from doctors, hospital managers & health care professionals with knowledge of the industry.
  • Desk research (Quality Assurance): review of every nominated hospital's advancements in the field of smart technologies.

University of Utah Health is ecstatic to be recognized on Newsweek's list of World's Best Smart Hospitals 2021.

"We are honored that University of Utah Health is being recognized for its accomplishments," said Donna Roach, Chief Information Officer at University of Utah Health.
