University of Utah Health now offers a Spanish-language version of the MyChart patient portal. U of U Health is the first major health care system in the state to offer a patient portal in Spanish.
Spanish-speaking patients can now connect with their health care providers to ask questions, manage appointments, and receive notifications regarding their health care.
“MyChart is a fabulous tool to keep patients informed about their own health care as well as to keep them well connected with their health care providers,” said Michael Strong, MD, chief medical information officer at U of U Health. “Now our Spanish-speaking patients will enjoy this same valuable access in their native language, thus helping them to be an active participant in their own health care.”
The patient portal also allows patients to view their test results, pay their medical bills, and request medical refills, all in their native language.
“Effective and personalized communication is one of the things we’re constantly striving for,” said Mari Ransco, senior director of patient experience at U of U Health. “In order for us to provide the best care for our community and our region, it's important that U of U Health is engaging patients in their own language.”
The Spanish version of MyChart is available for all U of U Health patients.
