Have a Pen and Paper Handy
Sometimes it's hard to remember everything you talked about at your appointment. Have a pen and paper handy to write down any notes.
Choose the Right Location
Do not join your visit while driving, on the go, or anywhere unsafe. If possible, you want to find a private, quiet area for your visit.
You also want to choose a background that is not in front of a window or has strong light. That way your provider can see you on the screen.
Minimize Distractions
It's all too easy to get distracted, and we understand that, but to get the most out of your appointment, you want to find a quiet place with good light.
Dress Appropriately
Being at home means being comfortable. Be sure to dress in something that you will feel comfortable in while seeing your provider.
Optimize Your Internet Connection
Connect to WiFi, not cellular data, so you won't get data charges from your phone service carrier. Also, during your visit, turn off other devices that use the internet so they won't interfere with your internet.
Test Your Internet Speed
To test your internet speed, go to speedtest.net. A speed of 5mbps or more will work for your visit.
Manage Who Will Participate in Your Video Visit
You are able to view and invite participants in your video visit Appointment Details. You can see what providers have been assigned as well as invite a guest to join, such as a family member or caregiver.
