Preventing Falls in Older Adults
Even though many people will suffer from falls after age 65, we shouldn’t think they are a normal part of the aging process. Our physical therapists are trained to look at problems with walking and balance and conduct an assessment to determine how likely you are to fall.
Evaluation & Treatment
During a physical therapy evaluation, our specialist will ask you questions and may also ask you to do some simple exercises to identify which muscles or joints in your body could benefit from therapy.
Taking your personal goals into account, the therapist will develop a treatment plan so you can safely achieve your physical goals. Your goals may include:
- exercising,
- getting out of a chair easily,
- or walking up a flight of stairs.
Your physical therapist will personalize your plan so you can meet your goals and focus on your unique problem areas.
