With a Personal Skin Consultation, Dr. Rosemary DeShazo will evaluate your skin care needs and skin type to find the best skin care products for YOU, helping you discover and maintain your own optimal skin health.
Tired of letting TikTok decide your skincare routine? The University of Utah's new Personal Skin Consultation through the department of Dermatology, was developed to to help provide a skin care routine with skin care products tailored to your skin by a medical doctor.
Consulting a doctor about your skin care routine can reduce unwanted reactions to products that are not a good match for you. Dr. DeShazo uses her medical training to understand your skin goals and customize a program that will compliment your uniqueness. Your skin will thank you for providing it the protection and nourishment it’s been craving (no offense “skinfluencers”).
Our goal is to identify your skin’s condition and find products that address needs. We see skin of all color and many common conditions or concerns, including:
- Sensitive or hypoallergenic skin
- Anti-aging solutions
- Post-procedure care
- Acne-prone skin
We also offer skin care products for purchase with both walk-in and consultation-based recommendations.

What is a Skin Consultation and is it right for me?
The Personal skin consultation appointment is a 30-minute on time slot where Dr. Rosemary DeShazo will do four things:
- Evaluate your skin.
- Discuss your current skincare routine. Feel free to bring these to the appointment.
- Discuss your skin goals and ingredients that will work with your skin.
- Recommend products personalized for your skin.
The consultation cost is $200 for the 30-minute appointment. Products are not included in this cost. Prices of your recommended skincare bundle will be provided at the conclusion of your consultation with Dr. Rosemary DeShazo. You can read more about these in our products section below.
Dr. Rosemary DeShazo has worked with the Department of Dermatology since 2011, spending most of her time in clinic helping people with sensitive skin, eczema, and allergies that affect the skin. Much of her career has been spent learning about the ingredients in skin care products and what they do so she can help her patients find personal products that are safe and effective for their unique needs. She started the Personal Skin Consultation service so she could share her knowledge and help even more people find the right products for their skin.

It is our goal to help identify your skin condition and bundle products that will address those. Some common conditions we see are: sensitive/hypoallergenic, anti-aging, post-procedure, acne-prone and skin of color.
