Sara was very Kind and wanted to understand what was going on and was interested in a timeline of symptoms. She was willing to help and give tests that no there doctors would do for us. She was willing to investigate what doctors where the right ones for us and the conditions that we need at this time. She took the time to talk us and this meant a lot, she didn't make us feel like just another person. She made us feel like human beings she spent time with us and didn't rush the appointment. I was super impressed of my PA Sarah, she was knowledgeable about what she was doing, she knew I am a nurse, when she explained to me my MRI result, she didn't skip over material & presuming I should know because I'm a RN, instead, she answered my questions with clarity, she discussed pro's & con's of treatment plans, signs & symptoms of my condition worsening. This was my second opinion for a neck injury sustained at work on 8/18/2018. My initial doctor misdiagnosed my injury and was allowing my neck to heal with a traumatic atlantoaxial rotatory subluxation. Sarah spent several minutes going over my multiple scans to explain my injuries and also asked Dr. Bisson to come in the exam room to plan the best course of action for fixing my neck! After six weeks of little to no explanation from my Reno provider, my visit at the U of U was a breath of fresh air! Thank you Sarah and Dr. Bisson!

I'm not sure if this survey is just for the pre-op visit, but I'm addressing my whole surgery experience. There are a few people who stood out to me in several departments, I wish I had last names. When I checked into the hospital for my day before pre-op registration, Josh at the main desk was very helpful. On the day of the surgery, Lisa who put in my IV and attended to my pre-procedure needs and worries was so helpful and kind. Eric and "Dr. Wally" were very informative. After surgery, my room on the third floor (3126?) was attended by many pros. Gloria, Clint, Letti and Sarah were awesome. I do have to say, unfortunately, Karrissa seemed a bit distracted and not very helpful-she actually appeared to be annoyed. Frank and Junior from the kitchen were both like rays of sunshine! Anyway, for a terrible experience (having cervical surgery,) the U of U team made it as pleasant an experience as possible! Sara Mcevoy and Dr. Bisson were top notch! I can't believe I walked out the next day!!

We would recommend the Neurosurgeon. But the other doctors we saw after surgery didn't seem as well informed as the surgeon or the anesthesiologist. The questions we were asking about the actual surgery the members of the team were not able to answer or said they would have to get more information. The nurses were very helpful in care and followup instructions.

Very impressed with the care I received at the neuro center. She went over findings & MRI's with me so I could see exactly what she was looking at which I appreciated. I will definitely recommend the neurology center should the need arise with any friends/family. My orthopedic problem affects my whole life. I want an opinion about surgery from a surgeon. The PA, while not saying she was a surgeon, acted as if her education/experience was equal to that of a surgeon.

Sarah McEvoy did an excellent job of interpreting and explaining MRI, but I felt like she paid more attention to the MRI than to the patient. It felt like she had already made a diagnosis before entering the room and did not pay enough attention to what I was saying. She did not feel that my c-spine was bad enough to warrant my symptoms and suggested an EMG, but when it was normal, she offered no further advice (via email) only that surgery would not help. Nor did she answer my question re: neck position correlating with symptoms in my feet. I was grateful to have the 2nd opinion that surgery is not warranted, but would have liked more attention to what could be done instead of surgery or some kind of next step.

Great experience. Sara Mcevoy showed us all the xrays and cat scans, even the ones from another hospital. She went over these, surgery, and expected recovery in detail. We also had an order for a thyroid ultrasound from our family doctor. I was not sure how to get an appointment for this. Sara and her nurse, called and were able to get us in that day. This saved us a lot of time and it was helpful as my mother is still recovering from surgery.

Any other doctor I have been to could care less about extra stuff just want to ask the basic questions and move on to the next, Sarah really explained things to me and wanted to make sure I got everything I could out of the visit!

My only concern is that side effects, beyond the gastrointestinal concerns we discussed, were not discussed about the medication I received. I've since had a reaction to it, and needed to call in and have the medication switched. It would have been nice to know about the skin concerns and possible breathing complications.

Dr. McEvoy is a GREAT doctor. She actually cares and takes the time to explain what is going on. Hoping to have her as my primary care doctor and plan to return to her with any problems I have in the future.

After she said that she was going to toss me back into my PCPs court, I felt that there was no useful information that she was willing to give me. Her main interest seemed to revolve around the fact that she wanted to make sure that she didnâ¿¿t have to deal with me. And, as she was lopping me back to my PCP, I felt anything that needed to be discussed should be done with him.

Follow up was discussed and no follow up available as discussed. Basically none of the issues we addressed were ever treated or cared for thus negating my reason for being seen. Nothing was done or resolved.
