Robert M. Christiansen, MD, FACS, runs a Low Vision Rehabilitation Clinic at the John A. Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, Salt Lake City. He is a nationally recognized expert in the field of low vision. Throughout his career he has been dedicated to care of the partially sighted and has been an advocate for the rights of those who are visually challenged. Dr. Christiansen has been a member of the Moran volunteer faculty since 1983. He joined the Moran team in 2014 as an Adjunct Associate Professor.
Dr. Christiansen and his wife Shannon have a deep commitment to humanitarian work and have provided humanitarian service in over 20 countries in Central and South America, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East. He has been recognized by the Utah Ophthalmology Society with its award for Humanitarian Service.
