Dr Beals is amazing. He takes the time to listen to all questions and cares about his patients. I previously went to the South Jordan orthopedic clinic for all my ankle care, and all they ever wanted to try was physical therapy. I met with Dr Beals one time and had such a good impression that I scheduled surgery after one visit. It was the best decision I made. Dr Beals is my favorite doctor, and I've had a lot of doctors in the last two years.

My only problem was, I left without a way to contact the doctor if I have a question. It just seemed like when he walked out the door, it was over and although I was pleased with what we discussed in the office, there were of course questions that came up afterwards.

I was so surprised by Dr. Beals bed side manner. In the best way possible. He sat and talked about my problem, asked many questions and gave many ideas for care. The usual time a Dr. Spends is around 15 minutes. He was 45! I left feeling so hopeful about my care and healing.

The doc left the room and said "hang tight we're getting you a boot" but nothing that indicated that he wouldn't be back in the room and so there were several questions I didn't get to ask him in person because I thought he was coming back.

My visit with Dr. Beals was by far one of the most positive experiences I have had with any provider at the University of Utah. Dr. Beals began by asking me what I hoped to gain from my visit. He allowed me to lead the conversation and address my concerns all the while taking the time to comprehensively review my medical history and future goals. Dr. Beals was attentive in his responses to my questions, making sure he didn't move forward without first checking in. He addressed my concerns in an empathetic and informative way and modeled patient centered, culturally responsive treatment. Along with his PA, we all shared laughs and concerns as well as options for treatment. I left his office with a smile, not because my leg would ever get better, but because I know held the tools I needed to make informed decisions moving forward. It was truly a remarkable, life changing visit.
