I have been to one other doctor, I will call him Dr. O. He fired me as a patient because I was looking for a different pattern for blepharospasm. Dr. Patel took me in and injected close to the eyelid. Best thing that every happened to me, being fired by another doctor which lead me to Dr. Patel. The difference is night and day!!!!

The communication from the "care providers" (your words, not mine) was top notch. Any questions I had were answered, etc.. Ended up having a minor outpatient medical procedure while I was there and during that, I was told what was about to happen next, etc. In real time as it went along. Never in the dark about anything. :)

I had a appointment that I missed the first time by mistake. I made another to have my eye finished which I was told to receive this care- when I finally got there the new doctor told me it wasn't necessary, I was upset and sent away only to have my eye have the same problems. I work also at Huntsmen and have to redo my appointment again and take more time off- I was really disappointed. This has been a long process (3) times . To be sent away was very disappointing.. I feel my problem wasn't addressed.

My first appointment with Dr. Patel was good and that is why I chose to have him do my eye surgery. However, the follow-up visit 8 weeks after surgery was very poor. When I ask Dr. Patel questions about still having swelling on my eyelids his only response was--"Didn't you read the papers I gave you before surgery? It's all in the papers." I ask a second question and received the same answer. I told Dr. Patel I had read the papers but I didn't have a good memory and that's why I was asking. Dr. Patel preceded to tell me that people in this country are too impatient. Followed by him saying 'your concerns are minor....it's not like your concerns are serious compared to someone with cancer.' I am a 5 year Breast Cancer survivor and this comment was totally uncalled for and very hurtful to me personally. I wish I had ended the appointment then.....and told him I didn't appreciate being treated in a rude and demeaning manner. But I also was close to tears and didn't want to embarrass myself and so I said nothing more. The appointment ended. I did not expect to be treated so rudely.
