  • Matt is a native of Utah. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University in Advertising and Marketing. He then attended Nursing School at the University of Utah receiving his B.S.N., went on to work as a critical care intern at the U, and then worked as a critical care RN for nearly three years in the SICU and CVICU at the University of Utah Hospital. He then attended Duke University's Nurse Anesthesia program where he received his Doctorate degree in Nurse Anesthesia Practice. He stayed on with Duke's anesthesia team for four years following his training, spending his last two years on their pediatric team, and then moved back to Utah in Aug of 2021 to join the Anesthesia team at the University of Utah. Matt has always loved working at the U and really enjoys his role in the anesthesia department's care team of providing safe and effective anesthetic care to his patients.

    Matt is married and has three children. He enjoys home renovation projects, boating, afternoon naps, and most athletic activities, especially volleyball and tennis. ​
