Joelle Rasmussen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Utah. She completed a B.S. in Communication Disorders in 1996 and an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology in 1999, both from the University of Utah. She spent a total of 22 years working as a speech-language pathologist in Park City, Murray, and Canyons School Districts. She was the SLP Coordinator for 11 years in Murray School District. She served on Utah Assistive Technology Teams for 20 years. She has an endorsement in English as a Second Language and a license in Educational Administration. She also worked with the Utah Speech-Language Hearing Association for three years as the ASHA State Education Advocacy Leader.
As a clinical faculty member, Joelle instructs and supervises graduate students in evaluations and therapy for speech sound disorders, stuttering, receptive language disorders, and expressive language disorders, including the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
Outside of the clinic, Joelle loves to hike, read, and spend time with her three adult children, their significant others, and her new granddaughter.
