5 out of 5 stars

Dr Erin Clark was very helpful in explaining my options, why a treatment I had done in the past didn't actually make sense, and what would be best for me (while also giving me choices in my treatment plan). I really appreciated the extremely thorough explanations, validation of my concerns, and also being willing to present more recent information that disproved what doctors had previously recommended to me.

Dr. Clark is brilliant, kind, and down to earth. My husband and I immediately knew we were with someone that we could trust. She took the time, every time, to listen to my concerns, to find solutions, and to offer reassurance. My pregnancy was not easy and I found myself dealing with other issues that a previous high-risk OB dismissed as dehydration. Dr. Clark validated my experience and provided me with exceptional care. I felt seen and heard both as a patient and as a person. I am on the path of healing now and it would not have been possible without Dr. Clark and her team. Thank you!

Dr Clark was amazing and understanding of our situation. I was not a fan of the fellow over our case and felt that she was judgmental to the fact that we had concerns over finances and was not willing to take finances into consideration.

Research Statement

Dr. Clark's research focus is the genetic and environmental factors associated with preterm birth and subsequent neurodevelopmental outcomes. She was a recipient of the NICHD Mentored Specialized Clinical Investigation Award (2007-2009) through the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units (MFMU) Network. This work led to a K23 grant to evaluate the association of candidate gene polymorphisms with cerebral palsy and neurodevelopmental delay in very preterm infants using Neonatal Research Network (NRN) and MFMU Network cohorts (2010-2014). She also has been funded by the Utah Genome Project to identify and sequence large Utah pedigrees enriched for spontaneous preterm birth (2014-2015).

Dr. Clark is Co-Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Research Network (OGRN), the research infrastructure for the University of Utah Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In this role, she oversees clinical recruitment and research administration for clinical trials and observational studies funded by NIH grants/contracts and industry collaborations. She currently serves as co-PI in charge of clinical recruitment for a NIH Program Project Grant addressing pelvic health after childbirth (2015-2020).
