My care provider originally recommended MOHs surgery, but didn't explain why nor that there was as least another option available. Based on a previous experience with MOHs surgery, I recommended another option which the doctor accepted, Ideally, It would have been nice to have received a his opinion on the differences between the two and why the MOHs was preferred other than to confirm that the option I wanted was a little cheaper. However, I realize I could have and should have asked him questions about the differences between the two as well.

Dr. Bahr went through everything with me thoroughly, explained why he was recommending/prescribing things. He explained that one of my prescriptions may not be covered by my insurance and what to do if it isn't to save me money. Overall I was really impressed with him.

The doctor just told me that MOHs surgery would be best to remove my cancerous growth, but didnt give me any options. Fortunately, from past experience, I knew there was another option which I brought up.

Dr. Bahr was wonderful! He listened intently and didn't make me feel silly or that I was wasting his time. I have seen other dermatologists, at the U, in the past and they have made me feel like I was wasting their time. It was frustrating and uncomfortable. Dr. Bahr was the complete opposite, he was kind, reassuring and made sure all of my concerns were addressed. Such a great experience!

Based on the fact I cannot easily see the incision it would have been good to have an explicit description of the location of the surgery.

It would be better if Dr. Bhar had written the formula so I was sure what I was expected to do.

I had an unanticipated reaction. One eyelid was swollen shut the next morning I thought I would lose my eye, rushed to urgent care and was told it was frostbite. I also have blisters where things were frozen off. Dr. Bahr's notes said this was cosmetic and not covered by insurance. I strongly disagree.

I got the impression the doctor was trying to make up for lost time during the appointment so everything seemed hurried and assumed I knew what some of the terminology he was using meant., but my concerns were addressed.

There was no mention of the after care for my wounds. When I asked the MA on my way out about after care, she told me vaseline and band aids are my friend and asked if I wanted her to print out my AVS, or If I was comfortable using MyChart. I told her I was comfortable using MyChart. However, when I reviewed my record in MyChart, there were NO aftercare instructions that I could find. I was also not told anything about follow up appointments, but I saw in my AVS that I am supposed to return for a follow up. I also did not feel what was documented in the AVS was a true reflection of my visit. We did not have discussions that were noted in my AVS.

I really appreciated Dr. Bahrs and the nurse! They were so helpful and patient and kind. They got to know me before any procedure was done. They took their time too, which I appreciated!

For some reason Dr. Bahr seemed a bit aloof. Not unkind but he is usually more friendly and social. Not a huge deal just odd. I received the good care I needed which is of greater importance.
