Bio

Charity Coe is a Physician Assistant with the University of Utah’s Trauma Service. The Trauma Service provides care to patients who have been injured by a physical force, most often as a consequence of motor vehicle crashes, falls, drowning, gun shots, fire, stabbings, or blunt assault. Care includes the immediate or life saving measures, and addressing long term needs such as discharge planning, placement of nutrition support devices, and coordinating appropriate physical rehabilitation. The Trauma Service also serves as a coordinating service throughout a patients recovery to ensure that all injuries are addressed, they consult specialty teams such as Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, Plastic Surgery, Ophthalmology and others as needed. Charity joined the Trauma Service at University of Utah Hospital in 2008 after completing a Physician Assistant Residency in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Academic Bio

Charity Coe is a Physician Assistant with the University of Utah’s Trauma Service. Her introduction to the medical field was as a Medic with the Army National Guard, and she remains interested in pre-hospital/ first responder education. She has given Trauma EMS Grand Rounds on Blast Injuries and Cardiac Emergencies in Trauma, as well as other small group presentations on Blast Trauma, Thoracoabdominal Trauma, Extremity Trauma (including management of amputations) and Cardiac Emergencies.
