A prescription was ordered direct to the pharmacy based on my labs without any discussion with me. I followed up with the doctor who consented to my plan of action without medication. However, my medical record still showed that I was taking the new medication when I showed up two weeks later for an eye exam.

Dr. Chen treated me like I was a quick box to check off. I was trying to establish long-term care with him to address my multiple ailments. At the call center, the pre-visit call, and his student ALL said he was accepting patients. The conversation was professional yet robotic then rude when I mentioned I was open to specific medication. Once I mentioned Medical Marijuana Dr. Chen became angry, rude, and then closed the camera on me without any "good bye" communication. I will NEVER schedule a virtual visit again and have advised my family not to do so either. This event made me feel dehumanized after I waited six weeks. I'm an employee for the UHealth and I'm ashamed to know that Dr. Chen represents the UHealth as a provider. As a veteran, I will ensure the vets I know understand to not go to this person with any expectation of real care.

I am trying to have further conversations with my entire health team about being more of an advocate for me so, this is unfortunately a trend right now (delegation of decisions to support medicine choice)

To be honest, I can't remember if we discussed a plan for treatment because I was too stressed out during this visit. I do believe Dr Chen was more concerned with a mental state then any of my physical conditions I had mentioned to him. The other doctor that came in with Dr Chen seemed more welcoming, heartfelt, and concerned with me than Dr Chen.

I HAD TO REPEAT MYSELF SEVERAL TIMES TO DESCRIBE THAT FOR OVER 20 YEARS I'VE HAD HEART BURN AND I THINK IT'S CAUSED SCARING. I WAS ASKING FOR A SCOPE TREATMENT AND HE KEPT JUST TRYING TO TELL ME TO TAKE MORE OMEPRAZOLE. HE JUST WASN'T LISTENING UNBTIL INFORMED HIM A THIRD TIME THAT IT CAUSES A TON OF PAIN AND HAD BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER 20 YEARS. IT IS THE MOST FRUSTRATING THING TO PAY AN ARM AND A LEG FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT AND TO LEAVE WITH UN ANSWERED PROBLEMS. HE SAID HE WOULD ORDER THE SCOPE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT MEANS, WHEN, WHERE OR WHAT TO DO FROM HERE.

Dr. Chen is usually really good at listening to me and showing concern for me. This time he seemed like he could care less about my medical issues. He said my appointment was only for 15 minutes and that if I wanted to talk to him further, I would have to make an appointment. The discouraging thing is, it is difficult to get an appointment with him. He is usually pretty booked up.

We didn't have any thing to.m discuss until the labs. With the results Dr Chen wrote an email and ordered more tests. I appreciated that he immediately made more tests available and that he immediately responded through email. To go beyond that I would have appreciated a chance fkr a quick phone call to explain/review results. Otherwise I just turn to google for an explanation.

This was my first visit to establish care with a primary and I was surprised to no questions asked about who I am, my family history, my lifestyle, etc. Once my lab results were back, the physician made assumptions about my lifestyle, which were untrue. This is not the type of relationship I'm expecting with my doctor. I get better care from my barber than my doctor. No thank you! Switching to a different primary care.

I went in for severe pain In my back, legs and right side. He basically just said that he thinks my back muscles are weak and suggested physical therapy and a handout to do exercises. I am a physically fit person so I do not think it was my muscles In my back. I was handed a handout by someone other than his nurse or him and she did not go over the exercises. I ended up asking for physical therapy In an attempt to find releif when I called to make an appointment for PT I was told It will be about 1 month before I am able to get In. I am In pain! Such a lack of concern and hardly any time spent with Dr. Chen. I will never go back to him!

Dr. Chen is an excellent doctor in every respect. He was patient with me, addressing completely and quite helpfully all of my questions and concerns. He was particularly insightful about my ongoing condition, explaining the results of my blood tests and asking for my input on adjustments to my medication. Dr. Chen demonstrated that he is concerned about my well-being, listening to me thoughtfully before commenting and making recommendations and suggestions. What's more, he was pleasant and friendly and took his time with me, never trying to rush through the appointment. I feel quite fortunate to have him as my Primary Care physician!

I was surprised for an initial visit for an annual check up how little time was spent trying to understand my history. There were no questions asked about family history, family dynamics (I did fill out the online form previously), no questions about diet, physical activity, etc. He did answer my questions thoroughly and I felt comfortable with his knowledge. It felt more like an urgent care visit, getting me in and out in a quick manner, than a new patient visit. Was hoping to find a new physician myself and my young adult children (I let the physician know this) but feel I need to keep looking. Office staff as facility seemed great. I expect he is a good physician, just not what I am looking for.
