I cannot thank Dr. Saltzman enough for his understanding and consideration. As I live in a different time-zone, I ended up being almost an hour late for the appointment and he still found the time to talk to me and cover anything that needed to be covered.

Dr. Saltzman was not alone and seemed more in the teaching mode. I was disheartened as i had questions. It was by this I met the Athletic Trainer Mr. Drix. (I believe I have his name right.) Sorry if incorrect. He showed me some techniques to help me gain more mobility and movement. I spoke with him prior, and was so impressed by his knowledge and giving me hope with my ongoing recovery.

Everyone was excellent. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Abetx (sp?) listened to my problem in the previous surgery with tape on thin skin causing bruising and used a tie of some sort instead. All my providers, including Dr.Saltzman, were excellent.

Dr. Saltzman is a joy to be with. He is professional in his approach and demeanor and very personal as he interacted with us. He created an element of ease and confidence as he explained in detail the options for my condition. All our questions were answered. We never have felt in our visits with him that he is in a hurry to get to his next patient. I was his patient at the time and he gave the time necessary to address my issues and then he stayed longer to just talk and answer more questions. More doctors could take lessons from him on doctor/patient rapport. They would greatly benefit. Thanks again!

We were VERY pleased with our time with the PA and the MD. They were incredibly understanding of my husband's issues, listened to him with care, concern, and interest. They took time to explain what we could see on the imaging studies done that day and the need for additional studies (and WHY). We are so excited and feel like we have finally found someone who understands my husband's issues and seem interested in finding a solution to his pain and have confidence that there is something they can do to help him.

As an orthopedic physical therapist I've worked closely with several ortho MDs in the past 20 years. I was extremely pleasantly surprised by Dr. Saltzman's grasp of and concern for the relationship of this injury to my mental health. I've seen a psychiatrist with less understanding of the role of aerobic exercise in the treatment of depression. I am deeply grateful for the doctor's breadth of understanding of medicine.

Dr. Salzman was the first physician that we have seen that showed true empathy for my sons condition and looked further than what was on the surface. We have had many doctors tell my son that he will always be in some degree of pain. Dr. Salzman could see that there is something mechanically wrong. UofU Patient December 09, 2017

I was expecting a short to the point consultation but Dr. Saltzman took a lot of time to diagnose my situation and then addressed it with clarity and assurance that my condition could be improved. He answered all questions and then explained in terms we could understand what his diagnoses was and what the procedure would entail. He was professions yet down to earth and was able to relate to our needs and concerns. We left assured that our visit was time well spent and can hardly wait for the surgery. Thanks!

UofU Patient November 07, 2017

I was recommended to go to Dr. Saltzman. I am sure pleased with my care and I have already recommended people to him. I'm very happy.

UofU Patient November 02, 2017

Dr. Saltzman was very direct and explained the injury, diagnosis, remedy and prognosis in terms my 14 year old understood. He had a pleasing and relaxed bedside manner. My son really enjoyed his joking manner and made him feel cool!

UofU Patient October 28, 2017

He hardly spent any time talking to me and seemed like he would rather be somewhere else than trying to help me or reassure me that my foot would be okay. He's done my surgeries in the past but now I'm considering going elsewhere.

UofU Patient October 28, 2017

Dr. Saltzman is a very busy man, but, he needs to slow down for ten minutes while with a patient. I had a lot of questions and concerns ref. the surgery and after, that I was never able to ask. So my guestions and concerns will be answered by someone that isn't a surgeon preparing to rebuild my foot. Dr. Saltzman is awesome. I know the care I will be getting is the best. I just have a lot of anxiety that is not being taken care of with questions that I don't have answers to!

UofU Patient October 27, 2017

When the assistant came in, he told me I had a neuroma. When the doctor came in, he told me that I did not. I had to leave to go teach a class, so the doctor's time was cut short.

UofU Patient October 23, 2017

Throughout the process I have been fully informed regarding diagnosis, options, risks, expectations, process, and timeline. Dr. Saltzman is a leader, or the leader, in the field of total ankle replacement. I was fortunate to find him. I highly recommend him and his outstanding team.

UofU Patient October 08, 2017

i had researched Dr Saltzman online. Being from Alaska, I traveled a long way to see him. He exceeded my expectations.

UofU Patient September 22, 2017

the doctor was excellent, but for a recommendation it's hard to do with such a poor facility that comes along with the doctor

UofU Patient September 17, 2017

Dr Saltzman was 1) a nice man, 2) competent, 3) confident

UofU Patient September 12, 2017

I couldn't ask for better service, concern or explanations from my health care provider. They were all exceptionally good.

UofU Patient September 05, 2017

perfect

UofU Patient August 26, 2017

Dr Saltzman removed 3 bone cyst, subtalar fussion and then put my foot back together using my bone for grafting. I'm from Idaho and came to Dr. Saltzman as the first doctor was going to use bone cement. Thank GOD I sought a second opinion as most of my mobility will return with dedicated therapy.

UofU Patient August 17, 2017

Saltzman is the best. I'd only let him slice open my ankle.

UofU Patient August 06, 2017

He went out of his way to get what I needed done at that visit. I have a long drive to get there and they were great to help me. It is really appreciated.

UofU Patient July 25, 2017

only one medication was discussed (for osteoporosis). if I am still experiencing pain next week I may call and ask about a steroid injection which someone else suggested

UofU Patient July 19, 2017

I was completely impressed with all whom I talked to.

UofU Patient July 17, 2017

I was very pleased with the Dr. until the last visit. He come in showed me x-rays, introduced a student or doctor with him, said looked like my foot was healing well, but wasn't sure about one part he could not see. Ask it I wanted a walking shoe. I thought he was leaving to get it, but he never returned, didn't as it I had questions, which I did. Did not say if i needed anything further. I ask the person who brought the shoe, he was not informed of any further appointments needed.

UofU Patient July 07, 2017

Dr Saltzman is great. Just waiting for feet to heal and hoping for the best.

UofU Patient July 01, 2017

Dr. Saltzman was wonderful! He took his time with me was an excellent listener. He showed concern for my issue, and seemed dedicated to helping me get relief. He also had a great sense of humor and was very friendly and personable. It really put me at ease and made me feel very confident. There was a resident in the room with him, and Dr. Saltzman did a great job in making sure he was involved with reviewing my x-rays and discussing my concerns. This is academic medicine at its very best!

UofU Patient June 30, 2017

Most impressed with Dr. Saltzman. He took time to explain everything to me in layman's terms. He was very compassionate and empathetic regarding my issue. He even extended to me that I could call and talk to him over the phone if I had any future questions. I will never be operated by a Nevada doctor and will only see Dr. Saltzman or Dr. Todd Kile of Mayo.

UofU Patient June 27, 2017

Thanks to the professionalism of ALL of Dr. Saltzman's team I am ready to do my part to get better. Dr Saltzman took time to know my case before I arrived and we had an amazing interaction discussing my medical issues. I am grateful too that he asked Dr Barg to review my case and meet with us. Both doctors are exceptional and I feel Blessed to have them helping me to get better.

UofU Patient June 09, 2017

superb care by a caring, highly professional physician.

UofU Patient May 14, 2017

Dr. Saltzman is extraordinary. Dr. Nickisch (my first visit) is equally talented. I understood the options, processes, procedures, risks, etc.

UofU Patient May 08, 2017

Awesome explanations frequent pauses to ensure i was understanding before proceeding. went over xrays again with my husband.

UofU Patient May 04, 2017

good

UofU Patient April 13, 2017

He's very knowledgeable, but I could have used a bit more care and concern about the fact that there isn't much hope of recovering my ankle to a 'normal' state. I was hoping for some good news, but even though there wasn't any, I could have used an "I'm sorry about this" or something.

UofU Patient April 10, 2017

Dr. Saltzman was the only health care provider to try to correct my deformity. I was a special case.

UofU Patient April 03, 2017

Dr. Saltzman and Dr. Nickisch are perfect to my needs and expectations. I trust them both.

UofU Patient March 30, 2017

I was extremely pleased. Dr. Saltzman was warm and knowledgeable and gave me practical advice.

UofU Patient March 29, 2017

I have absolutely loved having Dr. Saltsman as my surgeon and am so greatful to have him taking care of me.

UofU Patient March 26, 2017

Very impressed with Dr. Saltzman's concern and explanation of condition.

UofU Patient March 13, 2017

Dr Saltzman is a wonderful care provider ( he is kind, concerned, understanding ) and is doing his very best in helping me with my complicated issue.

UofU Patient March 11, 2017

Dr. Saltzman was the only one I found, that was willing to repair my foot. I appreciate a care provider of this caliber in the neighborhood!

UofU Patient March 05, 2017

This visit, doctor seemed in a little in a hurry to get out of the room

UofU Patient February 12, 2017

not enough explanation of how I was really doing, compared to expectations of the surgery -- not sure what to expect in the future especially long term - the appointment seemed a little rushed when discussing my discomfort however the Doc and PA were very friendly

UofU Patient February 07, 2017

Dr. Saltzman is professional, thorough and thoughtful. In my book, he's one of the best.

UofU Patient February 06, 2017

he didn't know what was wrong and said very little to me about what he thought. he talked more to the student doctor. he wanted my son to come back in a year and check back but my son was not happy about that because of the pain he is in.

UofU Patient February 06, 2017

Dr. Saltzman left in the middle of my exam. I didn't recieve the medication I was ordered and he was not available to follow up immediately after my radiology exam. I feel I was left hanging after a partial exam.

UofU Patient February 01, 2017

great doctor who is genuinely concerned and willing to help....who is interested in the person not just the medical issue.

UofU Patient January 10, 2017

It was a comfort to see that the doctors clearly knew what to do and how to go about addressing and handling the issue in a beneficial and encouraging way.

UofU Patient January 08, 2017

I have complete confidence in Saltzman.

UofU Patient January 01, 2017

Dr. Saltzman is very thorough in his explanations and prognosis. His candor is refreshing.

UofU Patient December 11, 2016

Naomi , Dr. Saltzman and Dr. Barg are always great .

UofU Patient December 04, 2016

I couldn't be happier with any other Doctor, than Dr. Salzman. He is without parallel- top-notch and pleasant to learn from about my condition. I felt honored to have him treating me, and will follow his instructions as well as those of his team.

UofU Patient December 01, 2016

Dr. Saltzman was very thorough in his explanation of the surgery he had performed, the approach he had used, and the reasons for that approach, using photographs of the surgery to allow me to better understand what he had done.

UofU Patient December 01, 2016

We are from Sheridan WY, I will tell everyone its worth the drive to get the best care.

UofU Patient November 18, 2016

excellent care by nurse assistant, pa, and doctor!

UofU Patient November 17, 2016

I felt I had an extremely good appointment with Dr. Saltzman

UofU Patient November 13, 2016

Dr. SALTZMAN'S bedside Manner and professionalism ARE among the best I've ever experienced.

UofU Patient November 09, 2016

I recommend Dr Beals and Dr Saltzman, but cannot recommend the U as the wait time to get an appointment is insane.

UofU Patient November 07, 2016

Dr Saltzman was great, he asked questions and listened to the response, he provided information that was easy to understand, talked about all options and explained the pros and cons of each. Given that he is an expert in ankles, he is very humble and has a wonderful bedside manner.

UofU Patient November 02, 2016

Dr. Saltzman was very thorough and honest. He explained the procedure he will be undertaking and the possible outcomes. I am very impressed with him.

UofU Patient October 18, 2016

It is so hard to find a doctor by reading a bio and looking at a picture of him/her. My last two times I chose one I studied the face of the person in the picture. I went with the kindness I saw in their face. I'm not sure if it was just luck or if my way of choosing really worked, but I got the best in my last two choices.

UofU Patient October 09, 2016

Dr. Saltzman was excellent. I will be coming back in the future for needed surgery. I will tell everyone I know here in the Wood River Valley in Idaho to come to U of U Health Care for care and surgery, not the hospitals there.

UofU Patient October 09, 2016

the resident and Dr. Saltzman listened well, read my list of questions, and spent the time to customize a plan for my specific problem. This amount of individualized care is much more important to me than waiting 20 minutes in a comfortable waiting room. I admit that I have a complex orthopedic history that takes time to unravel.

UofU Patient October 05, 2016

Following x-rays of my ankle, Dr. Saltzman was very thorough in his explanation of my current condition and the possible remedies to correct the problem.

UofU Patient September 11, 2016

Best experience I have ever had with an ortho surgeon.

UofU Patient September 03, 2016

Although I was hoping for a better prognosis, the doctor took adequate time to explain the medical condition of my ankle and reasons for not being a candidate for an ankle transplant.

UofU Patient August 28, 2016

Dr. Charles Saltzman has been and continues to be very thorough with examinations and shows concern regarding patient's pain and limitations.

UofU Patient August 06, 2016

I was very impressed with Dr. Saltzman. I know I am in good hands.

UofU Patient July 23, 2016

a good experience satisfied completely

UofU Patient July 14, 2016

I had a wonderful experience in this visit

UofU Patient July 08, 2016

it was a very good experience

UofU Patient July 03, 2016

Dr. Saltzman has a wonderful bed side manner and provided valuable information about medical options.

UofU Patient June 23, 2016

I have dealt with this ankle problem for many years. So I have had lots of thoughts and opinions of how two best remedy the problem. Dr Saltzman was very good to validate my thoughts and ideas, while at the same time explaining how things really work. LOL

UofU Patient May 26, 2016

This was my third visit about the same problem (twice with the PA and this one) and no one has talked to me about controlling pain. I have lifestyle limiting pain, otherwise I would not bother with a consult.

UofU Patient May 22, 2016

I do not mean to be critical, and Dr. Saltzman is understandably a very busy physician. Unfortunately, since he is so busy, one does end up feeling more like a body part than a whole person--which also unfortunately is how the system is currently set up. Everyone in Ortho is very nice, and I do appreciate being able to see Dr. Saltzman but it is a bit scary to have an ongoing issue that no one seems to be interested in addressing.

UofU Patient May 21, 2016

My case is complicated. I was referred to Dr Saltzman because of his level of skill & expertise. I am concerned that my potential surgery will be passed on to a new resident. My case is complicated. I believe the level of complexity my foot warrants a seasoned surgeon to adequately correct my disability. My hope is to increase my mobility. I realize that this task will not be a simple one.

UofU Patient May 16, 2016

good

UofU Patient May 08, 2016

Dr. Saltzman in wonderful and so is Dr. Barg. I have complete confidence in them.

UofU Patient April 23, 2016

outstanding level of care and concern. I've never had this attention and detail before.

UofU Patient March 24, 2016

Excellent Doctor, would recommend him to others, and have

UofU Patient March 17, 2016

Very thorough and explanative. I consider the time spent with examinations and testing/diagnostic equipment was very comprehensive, useful and relevant.

UofU Patient February 22, 2016

very nice experience

UofU Patient February 09, 2016

PA was excellent, but Dr. seemed in a hurry, and preoccupied, he came in and left rather quickly. I had unanswered questions and the condition wasn't even named or was I given any solutions to try other than wait 9 months for surgery. What can I try in the meantime? This was totally opposite of what I have seen in the past with this Dr.

UofU Patient January 24, 2016

Excellent. Very thoughtful

UofU Patient January 21, 2016

Dr. Saltzman was a fantastic doctor at first, but, unfortunately, he seems to have lost interest in my success. With the discovery of a difficult diagnosis, he seems to prefer putting on a pair of ignorance-is-bliss glasses to taking on the challenge of a wonderful learning opportunity. Meanwhile, I write this review at 2 AM because sleep is a rare event when your foot is throbbing and swelling all night.

UofU Patient January 09, 2016

This is in regards to Dr. Saltzman

UofU Patient December 14, 2015

Dr. Saltzman is great and so are all of the members of his staff and it is always a pleasure to see them.

UofU Patient December 14, 2015

Dr. Saltzman has always provided care in a wonderful way. He has always taken the time to explain in layman's terms what is going on. He includes me in my care plan as an active participant and consistently follows up. I couldn't ask for a better Dr.

UofU Patient November 23, 2015

Dr. Saltzman did an excellent job of explaining the upcoming surgery. He was not hurried and answered all questions.

UofU Patient November 23, 2015

Dr. Saltzman presented as very informed and experienced.

UofU Patient November 08, 2015

I have already recommend them to everyone that asked

UofU Patient October 29, 2015

dr Saltzman is the best Dr. excellent bed side manners

UofU Patient October 19, 2015

I would highly recommend Dr. Saltzman. He is very good!!!

UofU Patient October 18, 2015

It would be nice if Dr. Saltzman was able to spend a little more time speaking with me directly instead of having detailed discussions about my procedure and care with fellow physicians. More time spent with me would ensure that I completely understand what I am supposed to do regarding my treatment and follow-up care.

UofU Patient August 24, 2015

I feel very confident in Dr. Saltzman's diagnosis and treatment plan. I feel that other options were considered carefully before ankle fusion. I feel that I was included and my concerns and questions were addressed professionally and in a manner I could understand. I would certainly recommend him to anyone in need.

UofU Patient August 01, 2015

all good

UofU Patient July 23, 2015

The doctor and his staff, talked in a language we could understand and was making sure I understood, very helpful,

UofU Patient July 18, 2015

Very good

UofU Patient July 12, 2015

Dr. Saltzman is professional and caring.

UofU Patient July 10, 2015

I have always been impressed by my care at the University, and this visit was no different.

UofU Patient July 02, 2015

Ya'll are the best...

UofU Patient July 01, 2015

He had a lot of other students in the room at the time and I felt that he was trying to teach them more than trying to help me understand the procedure. He was still understanding but I felt a lot of stuff relied on the students in the room. He's a very nice person though!

UofU Patient June 13, 2015

Dr. Saltzman and Dr. Barg both go out of their way to help me understand the problems and possible remedies. Both are generous with their time and careful in the explanations. Naomi, too, plays an important part in making sure I am clear on everything. Superb experts all.

UofU Patient May 25, 2015

Dr Saltzman is the man!

UofU Patient May 03, 2015

Dr. Saltzman and Naomi Laird are very professional, and excellent providers. I'm very thankful for their services.

UofU Patient March 27, 2015

Dr. Saltzman very attentive and good listerner

UofU Patient March 20, 2015

very impressed

UofU Patient March 09, 2015

Dr. Saltzman and his staff are always extremely professional and friendly.

UofU Patient March 05, 2015

Dr. Saltzman and his staff (Javon, Naomi, Piper) are always great to deal with.

UofU Patient February 28, 2015

Saltzman has great interpersonal skills. Problem solving was thorough and involved dialog with residents and associates. Good job!

UofU Patient February 23, 2015

I provided information (CT Scan). He read it, and advised of the way forward for injury treatment. Chatted for a couple of minutes. I was very satisfied with both the treatment and outcome. We agreed that patients not requiring surgery are the happiest patients. Thanks!

UofU Patient February 08, 2015

I was treated with the upmost respect. I was so nervous but everyone put me at ease. excellent facility and staff. Dr. Salzman is great.

UofU Patient January 25, 2015

Dr. Saltzman is always very honest and informative and shows a great deal of concern for his patients and their needs.

UofU Patient January 25, 2015

He clearly knows his stuff and is bringing in a specialist in women's sports medicine to help ensure the right diagnosis.

UofU Patient January 18, 2015

Drs. Barg, Saltzman and Wegner are fabulous. I have the upmost respect for them and confidence in them. They are clearly very caring about my situation and sensitive to my needs.

UofU Patient January 12, 2015

professional, personal, complete

UofU Patient December 31, 2014

Dr. Saltzman talked to my son and he undersood all of the technical things when I was last after "triple...."

UofU Patient December 30, 2014

I have always been very impressed with Dr. Saltzman and his associates.

UofU Patient December 28, 2014

My husband and I were very impressed with Dr. Saltzman. Not only would we recommend him to others, we will be happy to place my care in his hands.

UofU Patient November 13, 2014

really was the best care I have ever had and I have been through a lot of doctors and hospitals.

UofU Patient October 11, 2014

Dr Saltzman and his staff -- Naomi, Spence, Javon, etc -- are superb. Dr Saltzman, in particular, is amazing in his ability to explain what's going on in my ankle in a way that is clear and helpful. I can't say enough positive about my experience so far.

UofU Patient October 07, 2014

I don't know if there were just certain dynamics or things going on that added to my experience that I had the day I came in. I felt like Dr. Saltzman was very educated and knows his stuff, but wasn't very personable. I also felt like he wasn't really listening to the treatment/care I already had done on my foot. I feel like we did come to a consensus and a good plan of action was decided on. Although he wasn't very clear from his end of the plan after the MRI being done. I know a lot will be determined based off of that exam, but I didn't feel like he answered my questions about what to do until I do come back in (any precautions/etc).

UofU Patient October 06, 2014

awesome

UofU Patient October 01, 2014

I have not received a call from the office concerning my MRI to schedule the surgery. I do not know what procedure will be performed so therefore I cannot make any decisions on my treatment. Dr Saltzman was very thorough about what he may be able to do for my ankle.

UofU Patient August 04, 2014

Dr. Saltzman has been great on both of the occasions which I have met with him. It was due to my own nervousness about being late to my next appointment that I failed to ask all that I should have.

UofU Patient August 04, 2014

I really appreciated being able to talk to Dr. Saltzman on the phone after he was able to see the MRI and x-rays and tell me what he will be able to do for me.

UofU Patient June 14, 2014

I don't feel that all of my concerns were addressed but I also know that he needed more information...like imaging. however he was one of the most open, honest, straightforward docs, I've encountered in a long time and I appreciate that. I also feel that I will be included in making decisions that will affect me the rest of my life. he was friendly and fairly good about explaining options in terms I could understand. I have confidence in my doc.

UofU Patient April 28, 2014

Dr Saltzman was very professional and informative with my situation about my lower leg/ankle.

UofU Patient April 03, 2014

Great doctor. Good rapport with my teenage daughter.

UofU Patient April 02, 2014

Good results and most friendly group I was with. this was a 17month check up on an ankle replacement

UofU Patient February 18, 2014

I enjoyed Dr. Saltzman but he had another doc in there with him and I felt he was speaking more to the doc than me when my xrays came up on the screen.

UofU Patient February 09, 2014

Excellent

UofU Patient February 05, 2014

I left without really knowing what comes next. I still have questions regarding my situation.

UofU Patient January 25, 2014

Dr Saltzman is wonderful

UofU Patient January 25, 2014

I love Dr.Saltzman. He wants to figure out/fix my problem with my ankle and he is willing to do everything until we do. He's a great guy and I would recommend him to anybody!

UofU Patient January 24, 2014

It took two months to get an appointment and by that time the extreme pain I had in the foot had gotten better. I still have pain when I walk too much but guess this is something that I will just have to live with. No treatment was advised for me.

UofU Patient January 13, 2014

I was so very lucky to have two wonderful Doctors. Dr.Brooke and wonderful Dr. Saltzman who I feel saved my life, he will always have a place in my heart.

UofU Patient December 16, 2013

I appreciated the kindness of Dr. Saltzman and Dr.Haller.

UofU Patient December 14, 2013

Dr. Saltzman gave me verbal instructions for after my surgery which included removing the bandaging and messaging the foot. The written instructions I was given buy the surgical staff was completely different, including keep the bandaging and shoe on my foot and no weight on my foot until my 6 week appointment with Dr. Saltzman - and, since it was my right foot, I wasn't to drive for 3 months. I called the resident on call to clarify and he confirmed the written instructions. At my 2 week appointment with Naomi, I found out there were no restrictions on my driving, and trying to put weight on it. At my 6 week appointment, Dr. Salzman was disappointed with my range of motion and I found out I should have been messaging my foot and bending it. Of course, this is what he told me prior to the surgery, but the written instructions told me the complete opposite.

UofU Patient December 04, 2013

Several things struck me positively about Dr. Saltzman. One, he was clear and concise. Two, he was not trying to push ankle surgery on my. To the contrary, he made it clear that he thought I should wait until I felt I needed the surgery. In the meantime, he offered options to minimize pain. Third, he not only included me in the discussion, he also spent time making sure to answer any questions my wife, who accompanied me, had. I could not have been happier with my consultation with Dr. Saltzman.

UofU Patient November 11, 2013

There was one time I should have asked him more about what he meant but I didn't give it enough thought until after. I will do more asking at my next appointment.

UofU Patient November 05, 2013

Very pleased.

UofU Patient November 02, 2013

Actually, I have never been in a medical situation where I had more confidence in a Dr. and his staff.

UofU Patient October 14, 2013

Dr. Saltzman, as always, was excellent. His concern for excessive swelling in my surgically-repaired leg led to the diagnosis of a DVT and rapid initiation of therapy.

UofU Patient September 08, 2013

I had waited 2 years for an ankle replacement. The experience was nothing but great all through the process. From Lindsay setting up surgery and appointment, to Drs visits, to post surgery in the hospital it was all very positive. I have a great deal of confidence my results will be great!

UofU Patient August 19, 2013

I would rank this care provider top in his class.

UofU Patient August 19, 2013

The follow up care was confusing; I think I just have a rather depressing situation.

UofU Patient July 15, 2013

Everyone of the team worked well together..Great Job.

UofU Patient June 05, 2013

Ankle replacement very good. Sorry I have to have metal removed at a later date. But understand it will help me.

UofU Patient May 30, 2013

What an excellent and enhusiastic doctor!

UofU Patient May 13, 2013

I really appreciate the time that Dr. Saltzman took to tell me about the procedure and the risks involved. In addition to explaining the risks, he explained what procedures would be necessary if things "went wrong". I appreciated his concern for myself and I also appreciated the concern taken by the resident.

UofU Patient May 06, 2013

I feel that Dr Saltzman has lost interest in my problem. He spoke more to the resident following him around than he did to me. While I have confidence in his ability as a doctor, I am very dissatisfied with the way I have been left out of the loop.

UofU Patient May 06, 2013

The doctor, the PA and the woman he had come in too were all great. Very nice and easy to talk to.

UofU Patient April 22, 2013

I had surgery 6 weeks prior to visit and still am not sure of the extent of work that was done. Dr. was in the room approx 5 minutes.

UofU Patient April 22, 2013

Dr. Saltzman and his PA (I can't remember her name) were both very friendly and professional. They gave me the information I needed and we proceeded from there.

UofU Patient April 15, 2013

I came to see Dr. Saltzman because I was hoping to have a total ankle replacement. I had thought that if I was not a candidate for replacement but could only have an ankle fusion, I would have it done locally(we live in Wyoming). After consulting with Dr. Saltzman, my chances for a replacement are slim, yet I have such confidence in the doctor that I will be having the fusion done by him.

UofU Patient April 08, 2013

GREAT JOB!!!!!!

UofU Patient March 18, 2013

Perhaps a fuller picture of post op care could have been offered. the packet of information sent by mail however explained things well.

UofU Patient March 11, 2013

Dr. Saltzman is the BEST!!

UofU Patient March 03, 2013

My ankle still hurts my knee still hurst

UofU Patient February 18, 2013

wish that the communocation between the PA and MD was more efficient that my wait time could have been shortened. dr saltzman showed genuine concern and care about my feeling which meant alot to me.

UofU Patient February 12, 2013

Saltzman. On a 1 to 10 scale, he's 15.

UofU Patient February 04, 2013

Good

UofU Patient January 28, 2013

Dr. Saltzman is superb. He somehow despite his many patients, students, responsibilities, brings warmth and friendship to his patients, a sense that if they are happy, he is happy.

UofU Patient January 28, 2013

Dr. Saltzman and Naomi are the best! I have already been recommending them to people. I am very pleased with the outcome of my foot surgery. THANK YOU!

UofU Patient January 24, 2013

Dr. Saltzman, as always is an excellent clinician and teacher. I always refer anyone who asks me (I am a physician) about serious foot/ankle problems or for a second opinion to him.

UofU Patient December 24, 2012

Dr. Salzman is "off the charts," absolutely goes above and beyond to inform, care and assist, awesome!

UofU Patient December 19, 2012

Information about returning to work was very confusing. I thought I'd be going back Monday, after surgery realized I would not be working for 2 weeks.

UofU Patient December 10, 2012

We have been dealing with an infection after surgery, and the care I received has been excellent. I always appreciate the doctors' opinions about the progress made each time I visit.

UofU Patient November 19, 2012

Really enjoyed the teaching experience with the fellows; it gave me an opportunity to understand exaactly what was going on with my feet

UofU Patient November 14, 2012

Dr. Saltzman is very good at making me understand the complexity of my condition, and willing to consider options other might not. I am very grateful for that.

UofU Patient October 29, 2012

You come to the University Orthopedic Center to receive the best possible care.

UofU Patient October 23, 2012

Very good.

UofU Patient October 15, 2012

Doctor was caring and concerned.

UofU Patient October 15, 2012

dr saltzman listened to my questions and spent time with me.

UofU Patient October 15, 2012

Dr. Saltzman always explains things in a manner which I can understand and remember. He is very personable and I would highly recommend him.

UofU Patient October 08, 2012

I was not sure if Dr. Saltzman would see me due to a negative experience with a colleague. However, this contact was positive.

UofU Patient September 09, 2012

Good experience

UofU Patient September 07, 2012

Dr Saltzman was very friendly and explained what the exrays showed and what was wrong with my ankle, in a way that I understood. I was very pleased with the kindness and concern the Dr. showed.

UofU Patient September 03, 2012

I could not have asked for a more thorough and caring experience at the clinic. Everyone was great!

UofU Patient September 03, 2012

I am frustrated with the way the doctor doesn't talk to me...his excuse is "this is a teaching institution." So I ask: without patients what are you going to teach your students? The PA does quite a bit better but is often so rushed I feel like I'm limited on the amount of time I can take. I have great confidence in the drs abilities but very frustrated with his attitude toward patients.

UofU Patient August 20, 2012

I'm very confident in Dr. Saltzman's ability to get me through this problem.

UofU Patient August 07, 2012

Dr. Saltzman is great!

UofU Patient August 06, 2012

I wish there was some award I could nominate Dr. Saltzman for that he has not already received! He is an excellent physician and teacher. I have referred anyone who asks me for a referral for foot/ankle pathology to Dr. Saltzman/University of Utah and that the trip is worth it. Dr. Saltzman is a brilliant, conservative orthopedic surgeon with cutting edge clinical skills coupled with the rare talent of also being an excellent teacher and role model for medical students, residents and fellows.

UofU Patient June 29, 2012

I was very glad that scientific findings influence the decision-making of my physician. He provided a copy of a recent RCT (in which he was lead author) and based his recommendation and discussion on its findings, which suggested that surgery might not necessarily be better than no surgery. This increased my confidence in his judgment and practice.

UofU Patient June 29, 2012

Dr Saltzman was very kind and caring. I am impressed with his compassion and understanding concerning my issues. Although, what he told me was not what I wanted to hear, I felt he was very warm and compassionate. I really appreciate Dr Saltzman and his professionalism. Thank you.

UofU Patient June 14, 2012

Very good experience

UofU Patient June 11, 2012

Dr. Saltzman is amazing. I've never been treated so well. The staff, including medical assistants, does not speak down to people, or use a lot of industry jargin that makes people feel uncomfortable. They truly understand how to treat people with courtesy, dignity, and respect.

UofU Patient June 05, 2012

I'm so grateful to have Dr. Saltman taking care of me.

UofU Patient June 04, 2012

Great skills could be friendlier

UofU Patient April 28, 2012

Overall I had an amazing experience at the clinic. I felt very taken care of and that there was thought and consideration to my injury.

UofU Patient April 26, 2012

I think Dr Saltzman is the best!! He takes the time needed to explain things so I can understand and answers any questions I might have. He let's me know he is availabe any time I have a concern which make me feel better because I know how very busy he is. Very sweet man!!!

UofU Patient April 06, 2012

I ENJOY COMING TO THIS CLINIC. I HAVE RECIEVED GREAT INFORMATION CONCERNING MY PARTICULAR CHALLENGES AND FEEL I AM RECEIVING THE CARE I NEED.

UofU Patient March 08, 2012

UofU Patient February 16, 2012

Excellent appointment

UofU Patient February 16, 2012

I was very glad I came to Utah for this concern.

UofU Patient February 16, 2012

As mentioned before, after the long wait, doctor spent less than 5 minutes with me. My sense is that he was too busy to spend any time discussing my concerns.

UofU Patient January 12, 2012

Doctor Saltzman and his assistants were great; very thorough; very thoughtful; very insightful, and helpful.

UofU Patient January 12, 2012

The amount of time spent with the doctor and the PA were close to equal, with a bit more time spent with the PA. The PA seemed would score "Good" or "Very Good" for the questions on this page while the doctor would score "Fair" to "Very Good"

UofU Patient January 05, 2012

Dr Saltzman took the time to explain everything to me as we were going along in the appointment and made sure I understood what he was explaining. He was very thorough and did not seem rushed even though he had a full clinic which I appreciated.
