  • Laura A. Segura, MPAS, PA-C, received her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Utah, School of Medicine in 2020. Prior to completing her Physician Assistant Education, she worked as a Child Development and Early Intervention specialist in a variety of settings including residential treatment, early childhood education, and in-home developmental therapy programs. Laura’s clinical experiences have focused greatly on the delivery of healthcare to under-resourced populations, addressing the unique challenges to obtaining care and the impact of social determinants on health outcomes. These experiences have shaped her approach to medicine and her holistic view of the patient.

    Joining the Division of Pediatric Nephrology in 2021, she manages infants to adolescents who are hospitalized with a wide variety of renal conditions such as acute kidney injury, end stage renal disease, nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, tubular disorders, cystic kidney disease, kidney malformations, kidney stones, and hypertension.

    She is passionate about pediatric care and views the family as an integral part of the care team, believing that information and collaboration empowers families to better care for complex children and advocate for their needs.
