  • Gitana Staskus, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Staskus was recruited to the University of Utah in 2008. Before that she practiced endocrinology at Woodstock Medical Center, Woodstock, IL. Dr. Staskus graduated with honors from the Vilnius University and underwent postgraduate residency training in Lithuania. She underwent further residency training in Internal Medicine at the John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook, Chicago, IL in 2003 and fellowship training in Endcorinology and Metabolism at the Rush University , Chicago, IL. She also serves as Director of Utah Diabetes and Endocrinology Center.


    Dr. Staskus’ clinical and research areas of interests are inpatient and outpatient diabetes management, insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring. She is actively involved in teaching of medical and physician assistant students.
