Bio

Allison Ellzey, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She is a general pediatrician who sees infants, children, and adolescents at South Main Clinic and also sees patients at the Child Development Clinic for developmental and behavioral concerns. She also teaches medical students and pediatric residents in clinic. Her interests include care for children with disabilities, underserved populations, and pediatric mental health. She completed the Utah Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (URLEND) program in 2013. Dr. Ellzey speaks Spanish and welcomes Spanish-speaking patients into her practice.

Academic Bio

Allison Ellzey, M.D., received her undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. She completed her pediatrics residency at the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Medical Center. After residency, she practiced for one year at a federally qualified community health center prior to returning to the University of Utah in 2012. From 2012-2013, she was a trainee in the Utah Regional Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities program, a program funded by the Maternal and Child Health Care Bureau to shape future leaders in health care and health policy for persons with disabilities.

Dr. Ellzey currently sees patients at South Main Clinic and at the Child Development Clinic through the Bureau for Children with Special Health Care Needs. In both programs she teaches residents and medical students. Her academic interests include quality of life for children with disabilities and their families, linguistic and cultural competency, underserved populations, and mental health care in the primary care setting.
