Dr Bakke compleated medical school at OHSU in Portland Oregon. He went on to be Intern of the Year at LDS hospitals transitional program in Salt Lake City, UT. The he compleated his training in anesthesia back at OHSU where he served as Chief Resident. His academic interests include regional anesthesia, anesthesia for neurosurgery, anesthesia for high risk obstetrics and anesthesia ofr liver transplants.

After staying on as staff for 3 years at OHSU, he moved to the University of Utah in 2008 as an Assistant Professor. He was subsequently promoted to an Associate Professor.
