  • Natalie Merz is a board-certified physician assistant with the University of Utah Palliative Care Service. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from the University of Utah and attended Idaho State University for her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies. She finds great reward in helping patients and families navigate the complexities of serious illness and is passionate about patient advocacy and education. Before becoming a PA, Natalie worked as a lab technician researching breast cancer and the physiologic effects of diet and disease. She spent several years as a youth mentor and advocate. She is excited to bring her skills and expertise to the University of Utah community.

    Natalie was born and raised in Salt Lake City. When not working, she is soaking in Utah’s exceptional landscape, playing music, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog.
