  • Douglas Richards, MD is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center. He is Associate Residency Program Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He completed a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of North Carolina in 1987. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine subspecialty. Following his fellowship he joined the faculty at the University of Florida College of Medicine where he has worked for the past 24 years. He has achieved the academic rank of Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Professor of Pediatrics. He directed the Ob/Gyn ultrasound unit, the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Florida, the Obstetrics Service of Shands Teaching Hospital, and the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship program. He is interested in medical education, ultrasound diagnosis of birth defects and genetic diseases, fetal cardiac evaluation, and complications of twin pregnancy.
