Currently, I serve as an associate professor in the division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Utah. Primary area of clinical interest and expertise is prevention and management of all types of diabetes, and complications of diabetes. I have a specific interest in the adoption of public health methods in clinical care and looking at the role of social determinants of health in management of diabetes. I have been involved in teaching medical students during the pre-clincial years and have worked with medical students to create an 'exceptional learning experience' (ELE). The ELE is an outpatient clinical experience in the endocrinology division for 1st and 2nd year medical students. The objectives are to offer a clinical experience in management of chronic disease(s), assess barriers to care ( using social determinants of health questionnaire) are determined and resources offered wherever possible. As program director of the Endocrinology fellowship program I am committed to continuously working on improving clinical and research offerings for the fellows and faculty development opportunities for staff. Finally, I am committed to upholding principles of equity and diversity in my clinic, fellowship program and any other area of University of Utah I am involved in.

Dr. Reddy is AMAZING. I had some questions going into my appointment. Dr. Reddy actually did a lit search ahead of my appointment to see what data she could find to answer my questions, and then spent time going over the data and providing me with her expert interpretation and opinions. This is not a knock on any other providers; I know many of them are overworked and under-supported, but I've never felt like my out-of-the-norm questions weren't just an annoyance or a burden to other providers (including providers whom I deeply trust and respect). She made sure all my questions were answered to the best of her (and to be honest, science's) ability, proposed a reasonable and innovative solution, and even took old medications off my list that I had previously requested both through MyChart and in person to be removed, but which no other providers had bothered to update. She is brilliant, kind, and humble. THANK YOU, DR. REDDY!

Dr. Reddy is amazing. I have had a very stressful past few months for all kinds of reasons ( work and family issues). and I was feeling overwhelmed and concerned that my sugars had been running consistently high. Dr. Reddy actually turned away from the computer she was using for notes, and faced me directly, just so she could listen to me cry and worry out loud for a few minutes. she is so caring and kind and I appreciated that extra little bit of one to one attention that she gave.

Dr. Reddy has been my provider for my type 1 diabetes for several years. She is absolutely top notch in her understanding of the complexities of this disease and it's long term effects on ones body. She works as a partner with me to discuss the best way to proceed as diabetes continues to affect all bodily systems, up till the end of life situation where I am now. She is sensitive and compassionate always, and even more so now with concern as how this affects my children and talked to me about how we were coping, making sure I had support from other social workers and my home health and Palliative Care Team. She works well to coordinate with my other providers on my team to ensure my needs are being met. I could not ask for a better doctor than Dr. Deepika Reddy.

I have dealt with some health issues for years and have struggled to find any answers. Dr. Reddy is the first doctor that has actually listened to my concerns. She looks at the whole picture and is willing to think outside of the box. She has called immediately with lab results and takes the time to explain in detail what they mean. She has been amazing to work with!
