  • Dr. Chelu was born in Albania and after high school, moved to Romania, where she earned her medical degree at Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, the oldest medical education institution in Transylvania.

    She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She was in private practice for 4 years in Houston, prior to making Salt Lake City her home.

    Dr. Chelu is dedicated to providing comprehensive patient care. She believes in educating her patients and providing them with the tools to allow her patients to make informed decisions about their health. Her clinical interests include comprehensive gynecologic care including caring for adolescent patients and menopause management, abnormal pap smears, contraceptive management, high risk pregnancies, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. She enjoys caring for women throughout all stages in life and creating long lasting patient relationships.

    Dr. Chelu enjoys spending any free time with her family. She also enjoys traveling and painting and is an avid music lover.
