Dr. Barker helped me understand the risks and benefits of the surgical procedure. He accommodated my desire to have the surgery as soon as possible.

Dr. Barker has a very good "bed-side" manner. His personality, while staying professional, aided in putting my mind completely at ease. His expertise as a physician was evident as he listened intently, & then he completely & clearly answered questions regarding my upcoming surgeries. After his initial exam, he wanted me to have a contrast CT scan to verify his diagnosis. Upon returning to his office after the CT, he looked at the scan results & gave his recommendations. Then, after discussing options, he let me determine how I was going to proceed. During his post-op evaluation, he gave me a clean bill of health and said I was healing very well. Everything he has done inspires confidence and has made me feel I could trust his recommendations & abilities. There is nothing about him that I would change!

Dr. Barker is exceptional. He had previously implanted a port for my cancer treatments. I was very happy with the result and felt he was a very caring and professional surgeon. I recently needed a general surgeon again, so Dr. Barker was my first choice. I was experiencing pain, so the office got me right in. Dr. Barker was very caring, compassionate and professional as he listened to my concerns. He spent considerable time with me and gave me great counsel. He didn't make me feel rushed and answered all my questions. I had questions answered that other doctors couldn't give me answers to. Dr. Barker is an empathetic highly skilled surgeon. I recommend him to anyone seeking a general surgeon for any of his specialties. In my particular case I had an inguinal hernia repair on the left side, about 4 years previously Dr. Barker repaired an inguinal hernia on my right side. Both operations were successful. He is a first rate surgeon.

Great service

Dr Barker is a wonderful physician and care provider. He always explains my circumstance and options without any pressure. He is always willing to answer questions and address my concerns and situation. He is very respectful and engenders great confidence.

I saw Dr Barker about a concern from a recent minor surgery. After explaining my concerns, Dr Barker told me I was worried over nothing, He did not know what the growths near my incision site were, but he was sure they were nothing to be worried about. He did point out he thought one small lump was a blood clot, but not to worry about it. He was quite short and less tolerant to anything I said. I did not feel comforted hearing " just don't worry about it, the incision will be fine." I am worried over it and feel I will see a different surgeon that will actually listen and explain.

Dr Barker was very detailed about situation and best surgical procedure for me. Very knowledgeable.

The doctor seemed like he just wanted to get the job and be done. I never got to talk to the doctor after surgery, he came in said my gallbladder was full of stones and he would come back in once I woke up more. He never came back in.

He was an old school surgeon who made me feel like I was an idiot for driving to Farmington to see him instead of going to someone in SLC. He also was incredibly rough in an area that is sensitive at baseline. He seemed annoyed that I came to him for a problem that didn't seem like a problem to him but to me, it's excruciating & I have been dealing with it my entire pregnancy and it's at a point where I can't handle it anymore because the pain is all I think about. I left feeling ashamed, embarrassed and that it was honestly a complete waste of time for the way he acted like I was nuisance.

Dr. Barker was very kind and considerate. Listen to all my concerns and explained very clearly what was going on. He was very articulate and made sure that I completely understood what was going on. He did not seem rushed in anyway. Extremely good experience
